What a great evening at the Allen Street Grill. I took my wife and two friends for a birthday dinner. Amazing cocktails to start the evening. The apps and the entrées were delicious and the service was spectacular. Great place for a special occasion or business dinner. If you havenât been here since all of the changes, you need to put it on the list. Best presentation, quality and taste in Central PA.
Everyone very much enjoyed their dinners and the seating was perfect for conversation.

The Allen Street Grill was recently remodeled and the changes were very nice. This is exactly what State College needed-great food, attentive service, and a beautiful restaurant. We had window seats, and enjoyed every bite. The server was outstanding. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the Duck Orecchiette was excellent. Throw in a nice bottle of wine, a couple drinks, and you have yourself a fine evening.
The bar and bartender are terrific! Jadot makes great craft cocktails. We loved the ambiance of the booths in the bar which is very nice and the service was good. Our only disappointment was that the food, while creative and nicely prepared seemed a bit bland. This has not been the case during recent meals we have had there.
I have had 2 recent experiences at Allen St Grill , both amazing ! When a restaurant can match the same level of food, service and ambiance during one of the busiest weekends of the year in State College (Central PA Arts Fest ) and a typical mid-summer week night , itâs truly a testament to the dedication of the management team & staff . Also new , the Lobby Bar! Be sure to stop in for great cocktails in a light filled modern space before dinner or just to relax and catch up with friends . So thankful to have ASG as part of the downtown dining scene !

This was our first time eating there since the new owners took over, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We arrived early for our reservation, but were seated immediately at great table in the corner, overlooking College Avenue. The food was excellent, but even more impressive was the service - gracious and very professional. We apparently caught them at the tail end of a rush and our entrees were delayed, but they brought our appetizers very quickly and we were talking, so we didn't mind. Nevertheless, they apologized and, when we did get our entrees, apologized again and comped us our desserts. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I'm delighted to have such a lovely restaurant in State College.
