great food good service and very polite
My waitress had no clue what she was doing ordered a cherry Pepsi got a regular didn't get my macaroni salad untill my meal came always got my sides like coleslaw or macaroni salad before my meal .Add to top it all off I bite into a egg shell in my macaroni salad told the waitress all she said was sorry do you want me to pick it off for you she didn't even take it off my bill left the shell right on top of the salad so the cooks in the back could see it .I doubt she even told them won't order that every again too bad it's good
Had lunch - the Glider sandwich is my favorite. Onion rings were delicious too.
The chicken Caesar wrap would’ve been good if there weren’t 2 inedible romaine hearts in them. The rest of the food we got was great, but the service from one waitress was awful. We walked in and nobody seated us or anything; we weren’t sure what to do because it was our first time there but nobody helped so I went to get menus myself. I gave them to my table, and had not spoken a word to any staff yet. And the waitress comes up rudely and condescendingly speaks to me in our first interaction. Definitely put me off being treated like a child. She was saying efficient things but in the rudest way. Her behavior and words would never fly in a real city like New York or Philly. They hire people with manners. If you want good food for Scranton, then go there but don’t expect nice service from the taller waitress with brown hair working in the front room. When I addressed the romaine hearts she just smiled fakely. She did not apologize or try to remedy it like the manager eventually did. Her reaction alludes to her asking the chefs to put them in the wrap on purpose. She’s definitely not cut out for waitress work where you need to be a pleasant person, but it’s Scranton so ig it’s expected.
I wanted home cooking but I just got out of work at 8pm. So I said let me try the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and coleslaw . BOY oh BOY. Whoever cooked this meal . Please tell them it was delicious. The coleslaw was the best I've never had. I enjoyed that meal. I'll be back soon to try the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. ?
I must say i had a very good experience here. Food was great. Hot and fresh. Not crowded and got a booth right away. Service was good and i will be going back again for sure. You can get breakfast anytime as well!! It was a little expensive for the foods we got. However, inflation is hitting everywhere hard!!
Glider diner. A-mazing food! Gravy is the best on everything!! Their breakfast is always great too. Family friendly style or date night in a booth.
We were hungry, and decided to try a local diner before heading home. Ample parking. Lots of open tables. Ordered 2 Western omelets with rye toast. Came very quickly. But it didn't even look appetizing. The omelet was so dry, brown around the edges. Not fluffy at all. The home fries were good. But the toast? About 3 each side, cut in half. Almost like crackers. Not great at all.
We visited on an icy, snowing morning and could not have picked a better place. Mentioned on an episode of The Office, we HAD to visit. We were not disappointed. The coffee was outstanding, the portions were HUGE and the service was top notch. Plenty of locals coming in and out, which is always a good sign.
Great service, good food. My only negative is you never know if they are going to have what you want or if they ran out..like the specials or daily soups.
