Great food, great environment, reasonable prices, friendly and accommodating staff…. The list goes on and on. The Peanut Bar is hands down one of the best places to eat in Reading. I’ve never been disappointed.

Great food, great atmosphere, nice and friendly staff and good drinks!

One of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We came for a graduation celebration and were greeted with custom menus with the graduate's name. Sabrina brought such a sense of joy and passion to our table, and her recommendations were spot on for every course. The food coming out of the kitchen was easily a bright star in the Reading area, with each dish coming out perfectly. From wiener schnitzel to seared ahi tuna, there was not a disappointing bite throughout the meal.Desserts were a perfect complement to our entrees, and the touch of having the graduate's name written in chocolate was the attention to detail you rarely see these days. It's very easy to see why this restaurant has been around for 98 years, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it around for another 98.

Service was not good. The food was average at best. The crab cake had my dates stomach a little messed up to be honest. I asked for my steak to be med-rare and it came out rare and cold. Honestly, I don't plan on going back again. I feel bad because it used to be a good restaurant/bar to eat and drink at, I'm unsure of what happened and when it happened.

One Warm Welcome...not from the area, found this place open on a Monday night. I had no idea of its history or anything about the place. A timeless feel to the interior, warm wood character & 50s charm, I could feel this place had a lot of history but didn't realize a Reading PA celebrated legend. The bartender/owner & my Server we're kind, accommodating and very informative...a slower night. Served up with their menu with a narrative on the history of the establishment "in a nutshell". The menu offered a nice variety from Seafood, Italian, German, Steaks, Burgers and much more. Seems like a Hot Spot with plenty going on, warm vibes, great peeps & good food to serve up for generations to come!

I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries. Food was good, but the service was terrible. Waited about an hour for our food. The server barely checked in with us. Ordered a soda when I got my food, ate about half of it and had to go to the bar to get my own soda. Plus they charge you for each soda. Who does that? The place was only half full, so there's no excuse for slow and bad service. Won't be back.

Worst food & service I've ever had!! We made reservations for New Years eve & the place was empty. Empty, yet we still had to wait for our drinks, our salads ,our appetizers, and our entrees. Our servers excuse was consistently "oh I forgot." The food was mediocre at best & one of our entrees wasn't even edible, yuck. The place is close to home for us so we had planned on returning but instead decided NEVER AGAIN!!

Excellent food and service. I was here with my family and we had a very nice experience. The atmosphere was great and had an old school feel. Peanuts are included.

The Peanut Bar is my favorite place at downtown for inviting special people for me.It's historic place, and living a unique experience with friends and families.I will be tryingmy dream " DISFRAZ PARTY"on April 2022 to celebrate my #65 ?
