Good food, decent prices but quite possibly the most miserable and grumpy wait staff in Berks County. Clearly not a happy crew. Maybe overworked, shortstaffed, don't know, but it made for a very uncomfortable dining situation.
Hadn’t been to Schmecks in years as I don’t go out to eat often. Was invited to go with friends twice in the last few months and it was wonderful. The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere very relaxing, the chairs super comfortable and the food is amazing!! Was totally impressed by the menu. The food I received was delicious and the prices cannot be beat. I will definitely be enjoying this restaurant again!
Nice place ,nice sized bar , pretty much to choose from menu, prices reasonable. Bartender was very friendly and nice. I will definitely be going back.
Crab cake and fried eggplant was wonderful. My partner had, as he put it, “the best calves liver he’s had in a long while “. Service was great and restaurant very clean.
I don’t recommend. I have a lot of words but it all come down to the fact that my family and I went in here and waited forever to be seated (it wasn’t that busy) then after seated nobody came to over till we had to ask for a server. My kids had pretty much already had enough of trying to behave at the table so by the time the server got there we had already started packing up and getting ready to go. I have served many years in my life so I normally wouldn’t write reviews like this, I understand when it’s busy and things happen….. but other tables came in after us and were served food before we even had a server to our table. Yeah, not going there again.
We enjoy dinner with friends here on Friday evenings. There is always something great on both the regular menu and the specials board. Thank you kindly for all the great times we've had and looking forward to the future terrific evenings.
