My server was a sweetheart. Very personable and hooked me up. They have a salad and soup bar along with daily specials. Roast beef and potatoes were good.
There food is good its a diner so knowing that walking in the food is fresh and hot. I have been there many times. This time though I had a problem with my bank I had to leave and go home to get cash it was a Sunday night the bank was closed. I left my ID and let me tell you they were so kind the owners. They said don't worry about it come when you have time they didn't know if I would come back or not of course I did right away. I was so embarrassed and they treated me with such kindness also the waitresses are always nice and the prices are really good.
Great place to eat friendly service
Terrible owners and even worse food
The exterior and interior of this building are classic 50's diner aesthetic. The food is fairly priced and excellent quality, with great portions. Desserts are homemade and taste delicious as well. The staff was friendly and capable, and the diner was clean. We'll definitely come back to eat here again! (For those like me who are fans of open-faced roast beef sandwiches, thier's was delicious!)
A good old fashioned dinner. Almost exactly what you would expect from its exterior. Good coffee. Pretty good service. Some very good diner food. Got some rough edges, but nothing too terrible.
We decided to get a super early breakfast before my fiance had to go to work (*so about 3:00am) this was my first time going here...we had a super great waitress, who was so incredibly sweet and polite!! Do to it being so early it was nice and quiet there with only 2 other tables with customers at that time...it is def a cool looking diner!! it looks clean there, BUT, when we sat down in the booth we were placed at...we noticed some left over trash on the seats and we could actually feel crumbs on the table from the customers before us, underneath the paper place mat...so whenever we get breakfast we usually order the same thing no matter where we go...so as always, I had scrapple and home fries with onions (crispy) and he had the same but with eggs and toast added...the home fries definitely had good flavor but unfortunately were extremely oily...and we both thought the scrapple was way too over-cooked and dry...but, I would be willing to give this place another shot again.
Vegetarian options virtually non-existent. Food was okay, salad bar was well done, my husband enjoyed the reuben sandwich.
I love this place very much before this pandemic shuttered everything I used to come with people after skating at Fantasy skating center on 500 George Street Reading pa on Sunday nightsSince the pandemic it's been difficult to get people to go it hasn't been the same since I love going there and enjoying myself withThe food is excellent the salad bar is awesome the portions might be big but I won't complain because with big appetite I'm glad that the portion sizes are big that's positive no one goes hungry. My question is out of all diners I've been to was there a train yard near or around the diner? I ask this because I saw model locomotive ? train figures in the diner parking lot and I was wondering if that's a train placeNevertheless the food is great and I hope to come back sometime
The food was subpar at best. The sausages tasted fishy as did the eggs. The best part of the experience was the waffle which was not anything to write home about. This place has changed hands many times over the years but never seems to improve. The wait staff was rude and rolled her eyes at me several times while I was asking questions about the menu.
