First, and last, time at this restaurant. We walked to this place because it was less than a mile from our hotel, and I didn't want to get in the car again. I ordered a small meatball sandwich. Unfortunately, it was quite large, which was a shame, because the meatballs were poorly made, poorly cooked and poorly sauced. The roll wasn't very good either. The friendliness of the staff, their diligence in making sure we had everything we wanted or needed, was very nice, but not enough to ever entice me back.
To start. Our bartender was AMAZING and very friendly. Our food was amazing and the restaurant/bar was extremely clean. Great place to bring the family or your better half.
I am not one to review a lot of places let alone give 5 star scores but I genuinely had a great experience. It was a blind date which is scary enough but our server Erin was AMAZING. I was a bartender and server myself at a small business so I can be a tough critic but she was the right amount of attentive, we never had empty glasses or had to search the restaurant to flag her down. This was our first time there and she was super helpful with the menu and made awesome suggestions. If there’s a second date ?we will definitely be returning to Paolo’s and asking for Erin!!
We ate at Paolo's today, the food was absolutely amazing. flavor was great snd portion sizes were huge. so why the three stars? Our server, we had Erin and she had to be the worst server that I've ever had at any restaurant. it took her 15 minutes to even come over to us after we sat down because she was too busy on her phone. after taking our order she never checked on us until we were almost done with our meal because she was either always on her phone or nowhere to be found. We also were not her only table looking for her. we had to ask the hostess for boxes and our check. other than that the rest of the staff seemed very friendly and polite. we will be coming back, hopefully we will not have her as our server again
I know it is difficult to get employees at this time and I've heard that Paolo's has good food and this be a bit unfair BUT it needs to be said as to paying attention to staff. I was enroute from Shillington to Washington and being hungry I ran into Paolo's to grab a sandwich to take with. Lots of help behind Take out counter and I ordered ham and cheese hoagie, lettuce, tomato, raw onion, sweet and hot, and oil. Standing there I watched the young woman making sandwiches and she could not even cut the rolls! Half the roll was hanging off the shelf. She had a serrated knife and had no clue how to use .. said something to the young man working the pizza oven that it wasn't sharp enough. So he sharpened and she went back to work. Got the sandwich .. got about 20 min from restaurant and opened sandwich (husband driving) and had no clue what it was other than a very sad looking sandwich. Ham, no cheese, no tomato, no onion, and mayo! I was beyond ticked as I was starving and knew we had no time to go back. Its different if dining in as you can address problems .. but take out is a whole different story and needs more attention as most often people don't want to have to come back!
I am giving an understanding 5 stars even though food was rather slow to come out. But these days everyone is short on help.Just happened by and needed food. We had their pizza and steamed claims. I first judge pizza by its crust and theirs was spot on with very good flavor and texture. For me another 30 sec of toast would have been even better. We ordered a personal size plain and a medium special order clam and garlic. Which for them is their white pizza with added claims. For a first try on something they don't normally do they did great.Sauce and cheese flavor on the plain was also very good. The 4 yr old ate 3 slices which is impressive. The steamers were somewhat small but sweet, without sand and good seasoned butter.Waitress was nice and hustling as best as she could.Yes I will return next time we are down that way.
First time we went had a great visit. This time not at all. Waitress was slow and barely talked. Food was 3 stars service 1 so I averaged. Oh and they tacked on an 18 percent auto gratuity, maybe thats why service was horrible. Too many other places to go so won't try a third time
We ordered steamed clams & a clam & garlic pizza that were both yum yum yummy! And, ordered a plain pizza for our granddaughter! She loved it- ate 3 pieces!Friendly seevice,, good prices- highly recommend!
The take out is solid, we've never been disappointed. Eat-in is good too, though we've only done that a couple times. Most recently we got catered food from Paolo's and everything was great and very reasonably priced and they even helped me load it all in my car. We'll definitely be ordering from them for family events in the future.
We both ordered personal size Stromboli. Meat lovers and cheese steak. Plus their sampler platter. Oh my!!! The platter was fantastic. The shocker was the Stromboli. They were huge. We took home half of the sampler. 2/3 rds. of each Stromboli. The establishment was very clean, not crowded and polite waitresses. The lemonade was excellent. We will be frequent patrons of this establishment. We both highly recommend this dinner. Food was excellent.
