Been meaning to come here for years, but there’s so many good places around here, you get stuck with what you know that’s good! Finally got there this evening and LOVED IT!Wasn’t phony Italian, didn’t try too hard: it was just simply really good Italian. Great overall experience!
Not only is Mom Chafee’s good compared to local, it is appreciated by people who travel all over the world. My cousin and his girlfriend wanted to celebrate her birthday with us and when we couldn’t do it on Sunday due to being closed, they changed their plans to make it Saturday just to experience Moms again! They have been here from DE 3 times. She says the Agio Olio is the best she’s had in the world. Our meals were fantastic( all four had different meals) and I usually order a special. Truly a gem of a restaraunt. Our service was fabulous as well and the wine selection is well rounded. We enjoyed an Italian La Salette Valpolicella. Can’t wait to go again!
Cozy, warm, welcoming Italian American restaurant. Service was excellent and accommodating. Food portions were large and delicious. I'm glad I could only finish half of my dinner, so now I have a delicious lunch to look forward to tomorrow. We had a great time there and look forward to our next visit. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for some Italian American comfort food.
Very friendly and pleasant atmosphere. Food was amazing ? I will return.
my wife and i went here for our anniversary for a couple years in a row. very very good food, excellent service!
It was very relaxing and we were not rushed to finish our food and also we had a wonderful waitress, she came around when our food was ready. She was really on the ball, overall great experience
Our favorite Italian restaurant. Specials are always imaginative and their main menu is compact, mostly traditional comfort food. Eggplant Parm is featured for vegetarians but non-veg folks need to try it at least once.Drinks are reasonably priced and the bartender doesn’t skimp. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with the tab if you’re used to city prices.Lastly, service is always ideally paced…meaning your starter, salad, and entree come out at perfect time intervals. That’s so important and often overlooked at higher volume restaurants.Always call a day or two ahead for a reservation, maybe a week or two for Valentines/New Years/etc.
Not a great experience as a vegan. Italian restaurants tend to be vegan friendly but server didn’t seem very knowledgeable. When asked for garlic bread, I said plain would be great and asked if she can just verify there’s no dairy or eggs as that would not be typical but does occasionally happen. She said there’s obviously eggs and dairy so I said that’s fine, no bread is OK.Then I asked for pasta with marinara; and again asked her to just make sure there’s no butter added. Very confidently, she said she’s sure there’s dairy and eggs in the noodles. So I asked if she can just have the chef make me anything that’s vegan. Almost annoyed, she said she’ll go check and came back confirmed instead that there was no eggs and butter in the pasta but said there was olive oil so I probably couldn’t eat it anyway (olive oil is fine…). And then she said it comes with a salad. Again, I asked for the Italian vinaigrette and just asked her to make sure there’s no cheese or dairy on the salad or in the dressing, she gave me a blank look so I said it’s fine, just go with the Italian dressing.Hopefully other vegans have a better experience.
This will always be the standard that I judge all other restaurants. The owners are there every night and are very personable. The entire staff are top notch. I have never had a bad experience here, and my wife and I come here for all of our celebrations.
Charming atmosphere, outstanding staff, and inspired menu. Recently enjoyed meal of bruschetta with pesto drizzle, tasty salad, and 2 jumbo lump crabcakes atop lobster/roasted red pepper sauce. Amazing!
