I’m really not sure why they ask how you want your burger cooked when the cooks (definitely not Chefs) can’t cook a burger less than well done. If my teriyaki Burger wouldn’t have been SO bland and tasteless I might have given them 2 stars. On a bright note they have a great beer selection that is mostly out of stock!
Great food at great prices! Olivia is bar none the best server in the entire place! She's smart, quick, and knows her regular customers by name and even their drink orders by memory. She makes the entire experience worth going back (foods not bad either).
Stopped in for a quick bite. Wasn't bad. Really liked my crabbie ginger beverage. Think I'll get the fish or shrimp taco next time.
Waited a long time go out to dinner here. I was disappointed. Foods pictured on their website looked fantastic. Unfortunately, at least in my opinion, my "burnt" fish tacos should never have been served. I sent them back and did get new ones but I felt the burnt ones should not have been served in the first place.
I had a Philadelphia Cheese Steak Sandwich. It was not very good. The meat was over cocked, greasy, and way to salty. I do not drink alcohol, did not try the beer.
This pretzel is absolutely amazing and it does qualify as colossal. The picture only shows less than half, lol ,- it was to good ! Great flavor, great size, great place to have dinner and drinks
Excellent place good beer selection, try the Lancaster double chocolate stout is delicious, great food selection and the atmosphere is very welcoming.. I'll definitely make this my regular spot for drinks ... ?? Highly recommended..
The food was absolutely delicious! Our waitress was great and friendly. The only issue I had was lack of customer service when entering. We waited a substantial amount of time without anyone greeting us. Several people in the back made eye contact however didn't greet us, tell us it would be a few moments, nor asked anyone to help. Our waitress with a full tray greeted us and said she would seat us shortly. 1st impression wasn't pleasant but the food & Our waitress certainly made up for it. I look forward to returning.
We have not been to the Ale House since the beginning of the pandemic. Friends, visiting the area, asked to go somewhere casual and nearby. Unfortunately, this was likely one of our worst choices. The hostess announced we needed to follow her to the "outside" dining. She circled a table, dropped menus, and walked away with no other comment. Hardly a welcoming introduction. Our server was the best thing. She was friendly, helpful, and professional. The food was not what we recalled. One of our guests ordered the Brussels sprout appetizer and mushroom soup. This appetizer was a longtime favorite. After looking at her plate, my wife wondered where the sprouts were. A pitiful amount of sprouts were on her plate, a few leaves. The mushroom soup was the consistency of a wet oatmeal dish. The mushrooms had been blended fine, but not smooth. An odd texture for soup. Add to this, it was not hot. Her husband had French onion soup. It was not hot, either. My wife ordered shrimp tacos. She will never order them again. I had a burger and fries. The burger was ordered medium and cooked well done and hard. The fries were served cold. We will likely not return, certainly not for the food.
good choices on tap, great pretzels and the lobster grilled cheese is awesome. will definitely hit this place up every time we are in Reading area.
