Such a relaxing time delicious pizza ‘ Our waitress Peg was so kind and sweet . Her kindness will always be remembered .
Great food as always. Never once in all my years have I ever had a disappointing time. The food is exquisite- atmosphere is nice comfy and elegant and the food and drinks are to die for! Staff is always so pleasant and on point! I recommend if you haven’t seen this gem in reading to come to Judy’s on Cherry!
Our family wants to thank Judy’s for the exceptional service we had on Friday night. The food was delicious and Steve was an impeccable waiter. There were fifteen people in our group and each person commented on both of these. We sincerely thank everyone for the ease of making this special dinner for the families one to remember!
Very disappointed! We had reservations on a Saturday night with some friends. We were seated and it took 45 minutes till we received our drinks. We ordered the bread, which they now charge you for. We had to tell the waiter about our bread order 3 times. He said it was baking but 3 tables that were seated after us all received bread. Apparently their AC also wasn't working ?. Waiters walking around with sweat running down their faces. Had to be close to 80 in the place. Always one of my favorites but will have to wait a few months before giving it another try. Hopefully they can fix this up??
Plan to spend 2-2.5 hours here for one of the best dinner experiences in the region. The bartender mixes excellent drinks and the food is prepared to perfection. As with any service establishment at this time, the wait staff needs a little practice, but hang in there it is a work in progress. Our young waitress Taylor was working herself silly and in the end we received almost everything despite the salad for dessert. Find me a place with good food and I will show you a place that is understaffed. We need to slow down and be more tolerant of the fact that wait-staff-in-training have missed 2 full years of experience. Thank you for a memorable meal Judy! I can only imagine how difficult this is for you as a chef/owner. The food was topnotch.
In the Reading area for a work assignment. Stumbled on this very unassuming place and decided to venture in as I had read a few reviews online the week earlier...sounded nice but def understated in reviews. Upon entering the establishment, all spaces/elements I experienced felt very alive - I knew I found myself a gem, only left to see if the food would be cohesive with the appealing concept of the space. Warm & Classy Contemporary; the colors, music, ambiance, smells, lighting and friendliness of staff...a warm welcome and great smooth jazz playing. Everything perfect, colorful artwork, lovely tables settings, lighting concepts. I believe it may have the owner who sat me and proceeded to get specifics from the chefs as to exact ingredients in the soup of the day, right down to the stock used. Then, greeted by a friendly waitstaff, extremely knowledgeable with the menu and helpful as it was difficult to make a selection. The wine selections for Chardonnay we're all new to me, but as all other aspects of this place we're perfect. I did it up...app, soup, entree' and take home for a full meal w/ the Braised Lamb Shank. Everything ordered was over the top in flavor, (contemporary & comfy food mix) presentation and freshness/integrity of ingredients. A dining experience you must try if anywhere in the area. Walked in with a smile on my face and left with a big smile. A shame I don't live in the area, this would be a regular and certainly a favorite of mine. Hope to make it back before I leave!
My husband and I went here for Valentine's Day and it was AMAZING!! I had the Baked dates for my appetizer and it is, hands down, the best appetizer I have ever had. The rest of our meal was delicious as well, as were the cocktails. Great service and great atmosphere.
Went there on a Saturday night prior to a show. The curried butternut squash soup with crab was outstanding! Good service with friendly wait people. Would highly recommend.
Was in town from out of state for a funeral and looking for some where to eat dinner on Friday night. We were actually looking for another restaurant when we came upon Judys. What an awesome find . Food was amazing, service was amazing, …… just a great place ! The focaccia bread was literally the best we’ve ever had . If we are ever in Reading again we will definitely stop at Judys.
I haven’t been here in many years. I was very excited to go with a friend of mine. I had made a reservation a week earlier and explained that it was my friend’s birthday and asked if they did anything special. They assured me that they did (a slice of cake with a happy birthday message) and I felt excited having a secret to surprise my friend. We ordered a wine and hot tea. A server brought us focaccia. Something we didn’t ask for but were happy to receive. It was ok. But knowing we had the burrata appetizer coming - I didn’t want to fill up on it, so I only nibbled on one piece. We both ordered salads. Both of which we enjoyed. Our waitress was very pleasant and efficient. The part that bothered me was at the end. We looked at dessert menus but I wasn’t really sure what was happening with my friend’s birthday cake. So we said we passed and when the waitress brought me the check (my treat), I figured there was a disconnect somewhere. I excused myself to the bathroom and went to find the hostess and she wasn’t there. A waiter saw that I was waiting to speak to someone and came over. I explained that I had called and asked about a birthday surprise for my friend. He said they normally do do something. Our waitress saw me at the hostess stand too and came over. I explained to her that when I made the reservation I said it was my friend’s birthday. I wasn’t sure if they charged or not for the dessert (and I didn’t mind paying for something) but the surprise wasn’t there anymore so I said never mind. I guess I thought the waitress might still do something for my friend but she didn’t. Ok but … Then I opened the check and saw a charge for the focaccia. Granted it was only $1.50. But we didn’t ask for it. And certainly didn’t know there would be a charge. A server just plopped it down on our table and said, “I’ll bring oil.” I think for a pricier restaurant this is a bit tacky. It’s more principle than cost. I get that the restaurant industry is having a tough go of it. But this just left a bad taste in my mouth.
