The rolls are super good, but they really skimp out on the meat here, especially on the Italian subs. You'll definitely be left wanting.. and hungry.Don't get the Italian salad here. Barely any meat. Lettuce that's about to turn. Perhaps the worst iteration of the Italian I've seen in Berks County.The cheese steak came through. Tender meat, perfectly caramelized onions, generous portions. The sauce was bland, but luckily the steak could pick up the slack in the flavor department.If they could just refine their Italian hoagie and get their salads up to snuff, D&J would be back in my good graces.
The new owners have done wonders for the food here. Great spot to pick up sandwiches!

Food is great. Wife and I used to come in all the time for chicken salads, then we had to stop eating in because of the co-owner/sister of the shop at the time. She was LOUD and annoying always sitting at the end of counter with her loto tix. Recently went in and saw her sitting at window. We might come back to dine in. Still luv the food, we order out.

I had a cheesesteak today 12/29/21 It was totally different then I ever had there before. The only thing the same was the atv roll. The steak was different the sauce was different the onions were mixed in with the steak instead of on top and the cheese was different. Not in a good way either. I’ve been going there since it opened in the late 1960’s it has always been the same although smaller than original but the point is it was disgusting. Why change it? If you’ve changed the way it’s being made you are going to lose my family as customers! In plain words it su***d!
Very Friendly. Food needs seasoning basic salt and pepper and some oregano. 1st time. I will try my favorite see how this will taste.
UGH! I really thought this place was our diamond in the rough, since we moved here.. but they got our recent order wrong and seemed like they ran out of half the ingredients for my salad and just did a make shift one. Nothing like what I wanted and ordered. Was very disappointed, considering that I also asked for other additions to my order that I didn’t get either ?
They are more worried about people Playing Scratch offs at the counter . Them the hungry workers that come in . And very rude customer about the 6 foot , when she wasn't even at the counter. I'll never go back
