The Mexican Street Corn fries an the burgers are awesome! Tuesday nights on the deck is open mine and a lot of fun. The new owners have made tremendous improvements and everything was first rate!
The new owners were posting a lot about not knowing what they were doing and an ongoing "soft opening" so I gave it some time before I tried them out. They still don't know what they are doing. The deck was open but the bar was not. We had to go inside to order our drinks and food because there was no waitress. We were with another couple and asked for separate checks and we're told they won't do that. It took just about 2 hours to get our burgers and the sides came out completely cold. They were busy and flustered but they had really poor attitudes toward the customers. I'm not going back.
This was actually my first time there. I understand it has a rich history and recently closed. The new owners purchased it and are renovating everything. It's is not fully finished so be patient. The food is GREAT!!! My wife had the chili ( or what ever it was as it had beans in it LOL ) and she said it was delicious. I had the Bertie Burger ... They do a fun concept where by you fill out a sheet to customize your burger. I order med-rare and it was a perfect med-rare We had the Nacho's ... Normally there is nothing really amazing about that ... but with the chili they have ... made them very good. Our Waitress Nicole was above-and-beyond ... Super nice and can take a joke ... I drink soda like it's going out of style. I little warning would have been nice that they do NOT have free refills ... Maybe it was on the menu and I missed it ... It's a family run business ... go ... help them ... you will not be disappointed ... Also, they had a silly pirate band playing ... The Durty Rotten Parrots ... Just a fun night.
This place has the best burgers around. They are 100% thick half pound burgers with super fresh ingredients made to order. It beats every sports bar/Restaurant around. Trust me when I say I’ve been to them all. I don’t write reviews, but this place has really turned around? Beer is super cold and staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely a place to go!

It is under new management and had talked to the son of the owners today and I will be going there once it opens! Very nice people!
Bertie’s has been on the other side of my backyard for 20 years. There is a little patch of woods between us. Quite often, my family and I walk back to enjoy dinner on the deck or we order take-out, and I can say with certainty that we have never had a meal we didn’t enjoy. The staff is always friendly and these are reasons we continue to support Bertie’s after all these years.I haven’t heard music lately, but generally, there would be live music on the deck on weekends. I’m a musician myself so the volume and time of live music would never ever bother me......however Pete has always been so respectful of our little neighborhood. He always would hire acoustic acts so the music would be less loud and the time was 7-10 so it didn’t keep people awake. I heard many neighbors comment on how much they appreciated that.Overall, we love Bertie’s! Please visit and try it out for yourself!I do have one complaint! It’s Tuesday and I’m soooo hungry for a Bertie’s burger.....and have to wait till tomorrow! ?
