I was looking forward to eating at this fine dining establishment. Unfortunately, both my husband and I were underwhelmed. The $14 dandelion salad was a few leaves of greens with a couple slices of citrus and a sliced fig and balsamic. Both pur $40+ entrees were sub par. My husband's duck was dry and overcooked. My risotto was gummy and the scallops were oversalted and unedible. We told the server to please let the kitchen know. Instead of apologizing for the poor experience, she said that we should have told her earlier in the meal so they could remake it. Sorry, but we weren't waiting another 30 min. for another questionable risotto. she could have at least taken off our drinks or offered dessert. $170 lesson learned.
We had an amazing dinner last weekend. Food, staff and atmosphere are top notch. Courses came out well timed so you had time to enjoy the food and company without being rushed. Will absolutely be returning!
A great food and drink experience. You won’t be disappointed.
Overall this place well exceeded my expectations. We went for Thursday tapas night. Out of our party of four, 3 of us shared a bunch of the small plates. The 4th chose an entree (because of celiac concerns). The 3 of us split 5 small plates and it was plenty.Everything was absolutely delicious. We had the duck flatbread with figs and goat cheese. The duck was cooked to perfection and was so tender. The deviled egg bombs, while I argue are not deviled, are fabulous nonetheless. The shrimp and grits were fantastic, though the choice by the chef to leave the shells on made for a less than ideal eating experience. The fried calamari was some of the best I've ever had with a super flavorful breading and it was butter tender. The bar is a complete scratch program and their making all their own bitters and mixers. The wine list is eclectic and has numerous local options, which is nice to see.The atmosphere is cute and quaint (someone at my table called it rustic chic). It's small, so definitely make reservations as it won't take much to fill the place. They're building an outside area too, so I'm looking forward to spending time there once it's built.
Our first time here and it was fabulous! From the food, to the drinks, to Annette, the floor captain. She did everything - made our cocktails, took our orders. We had several conversations throughout our meal and even after everyone else had gone, we had an extended conversation and visit. She was phenomenal! We will be back for sure as there are many more items on the menu we want to try!If you have not dined here, you absolutely must!
Came for dinner tonight; enjoyed numerous cocktails, charcuterie (the waitress was amazing and gave great suggestions), I got the carbonara and my boyfriend got the wagyu and it was phenomenal. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and amazing food. 10/10.
Simply amazing!!! Food just blew my mind with how flavorful it was. The specialty drinks were also delightful. I was really happy with the entire experience here. One word of advice: make a reservation beforehand because it is a smaller place.
As someone else has already stated, casual elegance is a great description of Stave and Stable. It is definitely not the norm for restaurants in this area, but we were very happy with everything, food, drinks and service. I had the dayboat scallops with salmon roe, very delicate sweet and salty all-in bite, absolutely delicious. The food was made to order, I am sure some of the sides like mashed potatoes and longer cooking vegetables are pre=made but done right. I recommend Stave and Stable for that special night out,
The atmosphere was beautiful but the food was seriously lacking. My scallop appetizer was salty and small. The entrees we're not hot and not made to order. You could tell the mashed potatoes were reheated and the carrots were undercooked. My halibut dish was $49 and extremely dry. They did not have coffee by the cup either, only large french press available.
Tonight's visit was my first experience of Christmas Eve -Seven Fishes meal. It was delicious ! We enjoyed every bit of the meal and every bit of a connection with family. I highly recommend this location and we plan on returning for a meal from the regular menu!
