Definitely not the same as it used to be. Used to come here all the time when I was younger but the food is not the same. Everything was cold, pork fried rice had no flavor and was more like instant rice. Sweet and Sour Chicken was over cooked and rock hard. Needless to say you can tell No. 1 is not run by the same people anymore. The nice old couple that used to run this place, it was the greatest and worth traveling for. They should change the name to Used to be Great Chinese.
We like their food, portions are good, prices are about the same as others although if you pay by credit card they charge a little extra.
I’ve been going here for 24 years! My parents even longer!! It’s the best always. I moved to west chester a few years ago and still travel to Pottstown for it! Nothing has compared!
At most of the Chinese places in the area it doesn’t matter what you order everything tastes the same. Here all the dishes have different flavors and taste the way you would expect. Spicy is nicely spiced. Garlic is garlicky. Portion sizes are generous. We enjoyed everything.

Most likely last time I will come here. I miss the original owners. Sliced roast pork is no where like it was. It was very salty, no garlic or sweetness flavor. Steamed dumplings looked moth balled for months and little meat inside. Dumpling sauce very spicy and salty as well. I posted a pic of the dumplings.
The best Chinese food for miles around. Called ahead, picked up in ten minutes and dove in!! Introduced my Mom to the good food and at 88 years old she's hooked too.
