Everything we order, we loved.Pulled pork tacos with slaw?Brisket?, pulled pork?Mac and cheese and cornbread?Burgers?Wings and all 3 of their sauces are good. (Spicy was really good...not too spicy)?Even the seasoned veggies...?

We were in town visiting friends who are locals and regulars at Wheelfish. What a treat! Excellent BBQ in a friendly place with a definite local flavor. The live music with the Baxter Brothers was a plus! Where else are you going to find 1920s classics played on a trumpet, trombone and accordion than in Pittsburgh? They do BBQ pretty well in NC but they don't do music like that.

What a great barbecue place in a North Hills neighborhood. We went on a Friday around 5ish and were greeted straight away by the hostess.Seated straightaway once we decided to sit indoors instead of outside. The place has a great vibe, the bar was busy, and Nina provided us with waters and the menu promptly. She was patient and answered all our questions, we had a person with a gluten allergy and she made sure to confirm things with the kitchen.Good draft selection, they also have bottles in the fridge you help yourself, they settle when you pay.We got the pork egg rolls as a starter, they came out piping hot with a dipping sauce, they had plenty of BBQ pork inside with vegetables, very tasty for sure. For the mains, we got a half pound of pork with fresh cut fries. I got the pulled pork sandwich with fresh cut fries. Let me just say the pork was super moist, and no fat at all. Usually when I get pork, I am always pulling out fat, but not today, I polished it all off including the fresh hot hand cut fries. The house BBQ sauces were great, I liked the bold sauce on the pork and the spicy one on the fries. We were full and the cost was very reasonable. Great service from our waitress Nina, who made sure to check on us.We will be back for sure, you have to try this place for great barbecue in the North Hills.

Wheelfish is a casual BBQ restaurant that is inside a distressed wooden building. Their menu lists appetizers such as pulled pork nachos and quesadillas; entrees such as sandwiches, meats, and tacos; some sides such as corn muffins and sweet potato fries; some desserts; and some beers. Prices are moderate. My husband and I greatly enjoyed our chicken, ribs, kielbasa, pulled pork taco, brisket taco, grilled vegetables, macaroni and cheese, and French fries. The fried deviled eggs were OK to good.As for service, the waitress was very timely with seating us, taking our order, bringing out our food, and giving us the check. She had a very courteous personality. We appreciate that she suggested a sweet sauce for us and brought out a drink refill.

Hosted an event for 100 people. Wheelfish catered the event--pulled pork, brisket, mac & cheese, spring veges, salad, and cole slaw. Everything was OUTSTANDING--melted in your mouth. In addition, the service was impeccable. I highly recommend them.Thank you, Pat and Wheelfish! The Matthews

Food and service were OUTSTANDING! 5 out of 5. Ordered pulled pork, brisket, spring veges, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and salad. Everything was fresh, hot, and melted in your mouth. We could not be happier with Wheelfish. Thank you to Pat and crew who worked so hard to make this event so successful.

Got a platter of smoked meat and sides to share. Wings and chicken were excellent, pulled pork was very good, but brisket was just okay. Sides were tasty and the portions were solid. They had a nice kids menu and it was really friendly for families. I would have liked to see a more robust draft list but the beers they did have from a local brewery in Butler were solid. We stopped by after visiting a local park and had a really nice time. The server was very nice and came by often.

Excellent BBQ type sandwiches. Didn't know what to expect since this was first time here but our party of 4 were very satisfied with food and service. Would def return. Location isn't in typical area for business since it was former bar but worth a stop if near Thompson run rd. In Ross Twp.

Was a great experience, went on Friday night, got a seat right away, great service, food came out fast. Tried the fried deviled eggs OMG, so good, the Mac and cheese is to die for. Will definitely be back!

Looks like a nice place and food seems good but when you set at the bar it takes a little while for her to respond then it seems like the bartender is not very happy but gets you drink. Just seems like could be more friendly. So good food but not so friendly service.
