My husband and I came in without reservations and we sat at the bar. One of the servers let us move to an open table not to long after which was very nice. The server we had was very helpful with the menu. I was really excited to try uni and it was so worth it. It is a bit pricey but the quality is worth it. The drinks are well worth the price too.
Loved that this place is literally a hidden gem! Live Dj on a Saturday night- awesome. Great staff. Clean. Very Delicious. Ramen was great. Loved the grilled street foods.Chicken skin was our favorite hands down.Brb
Unsure if the waitstaff want you to be there?? Kind of rude and snarky.I walked in and no one was at the welcome desk so I began browsing the menu that was there and when the hostess showed up, she pulled the menu back and goes “oh..a little nosy are we!?”She had an attitude while she looked for my reservation. So I was a little confused like…??? isn’t the menu for me, someone dining at the establishment, to look through to decide what I will be eating? She found the reservation and pulled out a menu from the same stack I was browsing to walk me to my table. It was just a bit of a rough start to the whole thing ??The waitress who waited on us was sweet but also only recommended the most expensive items on the menu with no consideration for the dietary restrictions I described. I asked another waitstaff person if the $24-$99 prices listed for sake were per shot and got the response “No it’s not per shot. If you read the menu, you can see that each of them is a different quantity.” I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a 10:30 pm question and it had probably been a long shift. They need a morale boost.Customer service was for sure below sub par, but the food wasn’t bad.My friend got the edamame, and the veggie gyoza. I got the tnt sushi, salmon skewer, mushroom skewer, eggplant nori. We would recommend the mushroom skewers and the gyoza. The sushi itself was a 3.2/5 and it had a lot of sauce. Also if you have a wheelchair.. or a broken leg... those stairs will get you!The redeeming quality of my visit was probably the fact that the dj was sooooo good, Yas Jarett! It made my night to vibe out to his musicI’ll come back if someone else is paying and covering the meal expenses.. otherwise.. on to the next!
A very nice Japanese Izakaya, with a regular bar and a sushi bar, located on the third floor.I ordered an unagi hand roll, a wagyu skewer, chicken skin skewer, and a whole grilled squid. Everything was good and delicious. Wagyu was a must have, can't go wrong.Service was also great. The only issue was that the restaurant was so humid and hot today, and the AC really didn't feel like it was working.
The food was good. It was a fun place to be. I would reccomend making a reservation. My friend and I tried a bit of everything. It was all tasty.
Best ramen bar in Pittsburgh! The experience as a whole makes you forget you are in Pittsburgh. To get to the restaurant you walk up a staircase with decorative wallpaper reminiscent of a New York style location. Upon walking in your are greeted by a server and the experience continues. On weekend nights there is usually a DJ and they play a great array of music. From the sushi, to the apps, to the ramen everything is delicious
I got the Shio Ramen and the takoyaki. The takoyaki was over cooked and the outside was hard. The inside was okay but was not great eating. The ramen. They served bone in ribs on ramen which makes eating the streaming hot meat very hard. When I was finally able to hold and eat the meat it was super over cooked and super dry.The ramen and broth was okay quality but nothing special. I wouldn't recommend this place for the food. Enjoy the drinks and the music.
Came here Friday night and had a great time !! This place gives me DC happy hour vibes sucha low key spot with great music ,appetizers and drinks very pricy $ for food FYI so if your really hungry I wouldn't come here unless your spending $100 easy but besides that definitely recommend for a girls night or date night
i've only been twice but i'm constantly blown away by Umami's food!! incredible service, delicious food and an amazing experience every time. pictured here is the takoyaki which was amazing, spicy maguro onigiri and king trumpet mushroom robatayaki!!
Their okonomiyaki is SO GOOD. Sushi is always fresh and amazing and their hand rolls are so good. Great happy hour deals on house sake as well! The waitress Kristen is AMAZING so kind and helpful and knowledgeable about the menu!
