I’m in town every year for an extreme pogo event, last year we discovered this place right after they opened. This year we returned and tried the waffles. 100% the best ice cream and waffle I’ve ever had. We will continue to come every year so long as they stick around. 196 5 star reviews? Not surprised. The owner and his wife deserve every bit of the praise. 10/10 worth every penny. I’d drive from California to have the Pittsburgh pride on a waffle any day.
I am a big ice cream fan and have eaten ice creams across 20+ countries. This is by far one of my favorite places. I love the hospitality of the couple and the fact that they are so friendly. The ice cream taste is amazing and the prices are affordable.I probably go here 2 times a week consistently for the last 6 weeks.I would go there daily if I wasn’t trying to count calories!Edit: Vincent is the most friendliest business owner I have met. He makes me feel like family!
This tucked away dessert oasis was a great treat after dinner in Shadyside. The owner was very gracious and clearly loves his craft. The ice cream is so decadent and flavors are on point. Last but not least, those waffles…. Fluffy and crispy with some burnt sugar on the edges. Had us drooling. Go get ‘em
Not sure what more I could add to all the 5-star reviews below... My daughter and I had a fantastic experience at the store. We were visiting Pittsburgh to look at colleges and went in just based on the reviews.The owner was wonderful and we got his full attention. For about 10 minutes we were the only customers, so we got to know a bit of his life-story and adventures around the world. He told us what flavors he liked and which he didn't and why.We tasted everything and all the ice creams were great. Two scoops each and the fresh-made, piping hot waffles - what a great combination!Definitely visit!
I am not one to leave reviews, but we had the absolute best experience here today. The owner is so friendly and knowledgeable. The waffles are by far the best dessert I’ve ever had!!!! You can smell them by the street! Not even surprised at the reviews on this place. Top notch. Adorable decor, clean, fantastic service. Will be back!!
Owners were extremely friendly. Free taste tests given without even asking. We got Pittsburgh Pride which was super good and creamy but the best part was the chopped waffle. Probably the best waffle we’ve ever had - extremely tasty crispy and warm which they make right in front of you. Complements the ice cream on a whole other level. They also give a generous amount of whipped cream. Highly recommend coming here as this is by far the best ice cream place we’ve had in Pittsburgh.
Awesome ice cream you can tell is fresh and the best waffles! The guys who owns it and runs it is from Belgium and will make the you the best Belgian waffles to go with the ice cream. I thought it was cool how they do unique new flavors very often also.
The owner couldn’t have been nicer or more passionate about his business! My friend and I stopped in to get away from the cold and wanted to sample 2 flavors, but he said sampling was part of the experience and went on to give us samples of many popular flavors and describe them to us. He was telling us about how he opened 6 months ago and business has been great and seemed like such a genuine guy who truly loves what he does. The whole time we were ordering we were talking and laughing with him. The waffles and ice cream were absolutely delicious! My friend got the cannoli ice cream with her waffle and I got Pittsburgh pride, and the owner makes the waffles right in front of you so they’re still hot when you start eating. We will definitely be returning!!!
Go for the Treat and stay for the conversation. I highly recommend stopping by Treat for a treat. The ice cream is different than most but it is so good that you will go back time and time again. Vince and Gigi were amazing hosts, describing and giving samples of all the ice creams. The waffles were true Belgians and made fresh in front of you. I just ate here and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
My first time ever writing a review but I had to after going here. The owners Vincent and Gigi are some of the most kind and authentic people I have ever met. My partner and I walked in to be warmly greeted and (without asking) handed countless samples of their locally sourced ice cream all of which were delicious! ordering and eating here is more like catching up with an old friend then just going to an ice cream shop. The waffles are cooked fresh to order and are just as delicious and completely authentic! Honestly one of the best dining experiences, you need to go here it is an absolute must!
