The family and I are in Pittsburgh for a baseball tournament and were on the hunt for some good food. We found it with the Pub Chip Shop! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the food was the best we have had on this trip. You really need to try the garlic dill mayo with their fries; amazing! The donuts were some of the best my family and I have ever had! I don’t think we will be back in Pittsburgh any time soon but this will be on our list if/when we return!
I went there for lunch and was glad to see they serve breakfast until at least 2. I got a sausage, egg, & cheese biscuit and it was amazing. The sausage was country fried, which I've never had country fried sausage before, but now I don't understand why southerners aren't constantly doing this. Why? Why should a British themed restaurant out fry the American South? Also had a vanilla donut. And it was STELLAR.My gf was with me and had the fried chicken, biscuit, and gravy and she reports that was very delicious and very filling. Both meals were about $10 and had decent sized portions, very great deal.Note: there appears to be no dining in. You can take out or have it delivered. The staff member we spoke to seemed very enthusiastic and passionate. This was a fantastic experience, I highly recommend it.
I think this is my favorite place in Pittsburgh for fish and chips and the like. Their fried chicken, fish, and fries were very crispy and they had some unique sauces. The customer service is nice. No dine in right now. I also enjoyed their boxty tots. I haven't really tried their sandwiches or baps, but it seems like everyone was ordering them, so maybe I'll try it next time. The Thai chili tacos were good too. Overall, would highly recommend if you would like something fried. The wait times might be a bit longer depending on how many people have ordered, but it's worth the wait. The amount of food is also pretty good.
Lovely place, food made on order so always fresh, get ready to wait up to few minutes for some good stuff. As an English man that loves fish and chips, I can say that it's worth it, the chip is not a proper English thick cut but it gets pretty close to it and it taste amazing!

The fish and chips were very nice, high quality and crispy. The fries were excellent. And the hot sauce was very good.
I always get the fish and chips. I recently had a chance to try the donuts and they were amazing! Some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. The staff was so kind to me and I appreciate their COVID precautions. It’s hard to find a restaurant nowadays that still puts in the effort to keep people safe. I am and will be a repeat customer!!
They seriously have the best fried chicken. It's thick and juicy with great seasoning. And the tots are amazing. We always love their food!
The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and cool as hell (definitely an archetype of people hired here) and the owner's personal philosophy regarding his employees and business have earned my respect as surely as his food has shortened my life expectancy. They regularly donate to local people in need, supported staff with wholesale grocery prices during the pandemic, and have always respected employee and customer safety and comfort. They're an institution for good reason.
Extremely friendly stuff, fresh food, legit fish and chips. Generous portions. But only to go. Thai chili tacos were really good! And they even offer Halaal chicken. Nice place to stop by.
