Let me start with the food tasted great and there are many different options to choose from including vegan, sweet and savory dishes etc. We were disappointed overall with the wait times. When we arrived they told us it would be a 30 minute wait. About 20 minutes later we saw about 5 tables free up but nobody take them. We asked and were told that it was not yet our turn and were showed a list of about 6 groups in front despite nobody being seated at the empty tables and nobody waiting nearby. They also even said to us how some people like to “sit around after” so they couldn’t give an exact time; as if they have no regard for moving customers in and out in a timely manner. They don’t include the outside seating in these numbers so fortunately when we asked if we could be seated outside we were able to without continuing waiting. Although we were not offered this. We were also disappointed to find the poached eggs on our eggs Benedict were all fully cooked, with no running yolk as a poached egg should have. Other than that we all loved our dishes, we were served rather quickly, and prices were as expected.

Was sad to see Coca Cafe close down near the start of the pandemic, but was very happy to see this place take the location and continue the standard as a top notch breakfast and brunch spot. Still tight in the inside and outside dining areas, but the staff was quick at turning tables and our wait was only like 10 minutes.I got the Brekkie savory Waffle and enjoyed it a lot, my only complaint being that my sunny side up eggs sat a bit long on the waffle, so the yolks hardened. My daughter got fruit and cream pancakes and my wife got the same thing on a waffle, and they really enjoyed their choices. My bear 1 year old was also a fan of the excess fresh whipped cream. Definitely a place I'd like to visit again.

Cozy little brunch spot with very tasty food. I got the Rhapsody pancakes with raspberry compote and goat cheese crumbles and it was divine! Service was a little slow, with only one (very nice) server and a barista behind the counter, but we weren't in any rush and certainly didn't mind (the server even brought us an appetizer to apologize which was very thoughtful!). It was a lovely chill place to just sit and vibe for a little bit! As a queer person here with my husband I felt very safe and welcomed in this spot. We had a great brunch and were very happy to discover this little gem on our first visit to Pittsburgh

Had a great experience here! The wait was longer than we anticipated (about 30-45 minutes) but gave my sisters and I time to visit a local coffee shop down the street beforehand. The ambiance of the restaurant was fun!Food was good, nothing stood out too much with us ordering some pretty standard breakfast foods. With an exception of the Elote bites! Those were delicious! We ordered the Three Egg Omelette, the Southwest Sunrise, and the Uneggspected burger.

A fun “nook” for a weekend brunch. The selection of dishes is limited but good. The flavors are good and what you’d expect from a dish. The portion sizes are a bit smaller and the tables are too close to each other.

We came for Sunday brunch, I want to give it three stars for how long we had to wait on a table and for our order to arrive…but the food deserves five stars as it was pretty delicious and there was lots of it. We left full and happy. Constant flow of people coming in so depending on when you go you might want to check ahead of time to see what the wait looks like. The waffles are yum.

I have always enjoyed the food & service over at Gepetto and it is just as good here at the Nook! The menu has a lot of great options for breakfast or lunch and the food is always very high quality. The service is fast and attentive - I don't really have any complaints! I've been here about 5 times already and definitely recommend folks try it out. It's an improvement in nearly every dimension over the previous establishment, and people should just be aware it will get busy and there will be waits during normal busy periods on weekends and 'hot' dining times. Keep it up!

Fluffy Pancakes, pototes, Sausage and coffee was on point!

We were pretty upset when they closed Coca café a couple years ago. And we’re just as surprised as we walked by the old place to see that they were people… In a new place! And let me tell you something, they didn’t miss a beat. This place is better than Coco was which is hard to believe. Fantastic meal and the great drinks! Keep up the great work. You are our new go to every time we come to Pittsburgh.

This was great!! Reminds me of how the Cocoa Cafe was when it was good. This would be very nice for a first date. Excellent food lots of vegetarian options.
