My favorite bakery in Pittsburgh. They have uncommon flavors and the cakes are delicious! I usually dislike buttercream for being too heavy and sweet, but their frosting was perfectly whipped and light. It doesn’t overwhelm the more subtle (like rose) flavors of the cake at all. They also had a vegan blueberry cobbler that was delicious. Don’t be skeptical of vegan pastries! All the ones I’ve had here were just as good as any dairy ones. The inside is really cute too. It’s rather dark in there but I like it! It’s relaxing and closed off from the street with plush, cutesy furniture. Good place for hanging out with friends for tea or coffee.

Don’t walk, RUN to try this place! Very interesting flavors that develop as you eat them. Cute decor, perfect for a coffee date or to go study and feel like you’re the main character of a romance movie. The cakes aren’t super artificially sweet but I think it’s better that way.

They are so nice and friendly. My wife and I just tried a piece of black sesame cake out of our pure curiosity…then, it became one of our best cakes ever!AMAZING. We decided to try all the kinds of cakes here!

I absolutely loved this little shop! The sweets and tea were amazing! The barista was so sweet! It’s a perfect spot to study, for a date, or hang out with friends.Highly recommend the rose tea and the cobbler. The sweets they have aren’t overwhelming sweet which is a plus.10/10 recommend and a plus to support the local shops.

The Butterwood baked, decorated, and delivered our November 2021 wedding cake, as well as tea cakes, hand pies, and pudding cups for our dessert table, and we cannot thank them enough for how amazing everything turned out! All desserts were delicious and decorated beautifully, and we received many compliments! HIGHLY recommend the Butterwood for anyone looking for a wedding cake bakery!

Love the ambience of this little bakery!! It’s a whole vibe in there. The desserts are worth the price.

Stopped in on a rainy day and ordered chai lattes, vegan peach cobbler, and vegan sweet potato cake with cinnamon "buttercream" frosting (hand for scale of items). Very delicious and made me want to try all the other vegan items on the menu! Cute decor and very comfy victorian style couch with fun little decor accents. Oat milk is the plant milk that they had as the option when I visited. Good option for bakery with later hours and a late afternoon sugar and coffee fix ?

I just love this place, It is a fabulous little place to grab a cake and coffee and have a sit. Honestly some of the best cake I have ever had.

Just the right amount of sweetness, I love how the buttercream is never overwhelming. I’m not vegan but I’m in love with their vegan options. Plus they’re beautiful to look at.

My partner and I just randomly found this place today, and I wish we knew about it sooner. Every single the we tried (and we tried almost everything) was out of this world. Get the cookie sandwiches and the epresso chocolate cakes!
