Horrible wait time, horrible service and Rude staff. We ordered soup , Chilli chicken, Chana Batura on a weekday at 6:30 pm. Soup n chilli chicken came but they made us wait for 40 minutes after finishing soup n chilli chicken for the main chana Batura and upon asking for the reason for delay, the person responsible rudely said "It takes time and we have many deliveries". We asked to cancel n he didn't even apologize. we had a little one of 2 years with us and even she was frustrated n got really fussy waiting unnecessarily without the food arriving. I would never ever visit this place nor recommend others to visit.
Most of the time the listed items in menu was not refilled properly. May be I can take a video or pic when I come there next time to show you some proof. It will be easy to post it in review.-----Food taste is worst and their buffet menu items are limited now. It used to be a decent restaurant couple of years back. They lost their shine. At least the limited menu could have tasted better.
A horrible takeout experience. We placed a takeout order and were informed it would be ready at 5:15. After about an hour of waiting past that time, and receiving multiple excuses about why our food wasn’t being prepared, we asked for a refund. We were told the restaurant can’t issue a refund because the order was made online, so we now have to go through the extra step of disputing the credit card charge. Very disappointed and will make sure to direct anyone who asks where to get good Indian food away from Tamarind.
They made the worst biriyani ever. The rice is hard and the chicken has the uncooked smell of ginger. For the chicken they added lots of red color outside but inside it looks brown, which means it's spoiled chicken and expired. Please avoid this place if you are looking for good biriyani. The starters are also worst. They used to be good but nowadays the quality is degraded.Only eat if you want to risk spoiling your stomach.
My lunch was $8.99 in the menu that was provided to us after we were seated. After lunch I was charged $9.99 for the same (plus tax, of course). Be careful, these are dishonest people. If I wanted, there is a law in Pennsylvania that I get free items if the merchant charges are different than the advertised/written price. I am not going there again.
This indulgent Indian cuisine is packed with rich and intense flavors. They have been a long-standing institution in the South Hills and for good reason. Standouts are the Saag paneer and Tandoori platter as well as their fantastic Carrot pudding. Bravo ?
Tamarind is one of my go to place but I don’t know what happened to these guys recently whenever we go to buffet they will not replace the food if something is completed and we will have very less options too. If we order biryani during weekends they will just get the chicken biryani from buffet and fill the boxes without any leg pieces. Prices are high and quantity is very less. When we recently went for buffet there are lots of guys who might be one of the employees friends and they are not even moving from the buffet area and making fun of others that made us feel uncomfortable and we came back without eating food.
Tandoori Chicken Sizzler.... OMG, it was spot on. I liked the Butter Chicken which was served with Indian rice. Real good food and nice service. Can't wait to try their weekend special Buffet...
Right from placing the order, everything was very pleasing. I ordered chicken biriyani. The taste was as authentic as it could be. Perfect Andhra style. The spices were very earthy and for sure wet ground and not the dry store bought kind. The quantity of chicken chunks was humongous. We thoroughly enjoyed our biriyani and looking forward to ordering more food from them.
We have been here few times after the new management and posted 5 star review while dining in at the restaurant as food was excellent.Today, we ordered to-go; the taste was awful, too much sour, I forcefully had to post 1 star review, food quality wasn’t anywhere !!!
