Came to Taj Mahal with a large dinner group, and they were very accommodating of us! This is a beautiful restaurant for Asian people, and the food was excellent. We gotTaj special.Tandoori jumbo shrimp, chicken seekh kabob.Chicken 65Lamb chops with several bottles of wine and beer.I would recommend this place to anyone visiting downtown Pittsburgh and looking for Asian flavor.

This place has really gone downhill, the service was absolutely terrible and food was clearly left over from the lunch buffet and the meat was inedible. Usually if a server sees this they would ask if something was wrong, but this server didn't care. In fact, he has airpods in so he couldn't really hear anything we asked for. And to top it off I got sick after eating here.Sad, as I used to love this place.

Arguably the best Indian restaurant in Pittsburgh. Their buffet is huge and diverse, with the usual dishes, but also harder to find southern Indian cuisine. I personally love southern Indian food, so was pleasantly surprised to find so much of it on the buffet. Most of the food was fairly spicy, also my taste, but the southern was blazingly hot, which was another pleasant surprise. Despite that, even my daughter, decidedly not a spicy eater, was able to find plenty of excellent food there.

I have been a customer of this Indian restaurant for several years. Their menu offers a large selection of appetizers, entrees, sides, desserts, and beverages, and it includes meat as well as many vegetarian options. During my most recent visit, my husband and I ate dinner inside the restaurant on a busy Friday evening. The appetizers were brought out after 40 minutes, and the entrees were brought out soon after. The employees were polite, and they said thank you and refilled our glasses of water. We greatly enjoyed the flavor of our assorted vegetable appetizer, vegetable vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. Prices were reasonable.

Tried Indo Chinese - Hakka Noodles and Gobi Manchurian. The spice level was 7 this time and it tasted really good. So increasing a star.

Stopped in for dinner tonight and was surprised to see a wide variety of vegetarian items on the buffet. I'm trying to eat more healthier and plant based so this was a nice surprise. Good food, good price. All they seem to have to drink is water, I asked for tea that was very over priced but if that is my only complaint.

The BEST Indian food in Pittsburgh! The Saturday lunch buffet is always crazy busy but always a seat. The food is unreal!

I don't know how or why I forgot about this gem. Huge portions, great food and service. The prices may appear high but I've never had a dish that didn't end up being 2 meals. If you don't like spicy Indian food make sure you order accordingly, this place has some of the hottest dishes I've had in life and they are absolutely delicious.

The food is always fresh and plentiful. I appreciate that most of the staff and patrons wear masks, but to be honest... The food is so good I would probably go there even if they didn't.

This food has always been delicious and consistent. I've been a fan since around 2008 or so. Not sure what other people are complaining about. I visited TajM before, during and after the covid lockdowns. the establishment stayed open and available even without the buffet probably required by health department. Eating off the buffet or off the menu TajM never disappoints. They are so good and so awesome to adjust their spicey food for even some of the schools to offer food to young kids (montessouri). today I stopped in and ate from the buffet.. fantastic food and service.. a familiar face, the lovely older gentleman was so gracious and kind. Best food, not just indian food, in pittsburgh. veg khorma, chicken tikka masala, and tandori chix are some of my favorites.. and the rice pudding and sweet honey balls for desert are always excellent.
