Jessica Bella and I had a great time at the Starlite Lounge Open Mic hosted by Devin Russian and Michael Berkey.

This bar/restaurant has delicious food! The fish sandwich is huge and their homemade pierogies are to die for. Guy Fieri from Diners, Drive Ins and Dives even visited here to check them out. My boyfriend and I come here every Friday because in addition to the food, they have a band play every Friday. And because many of the same people come to hear the band every Friday, you get to know everyone. It has a sort of Cheers atmosphere. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, stop by for a bite to eat. You won’t be disappointed!

Forgive the photo of the pierogi, I forgot to take one until we were half through eating it. Well this is definitely a little dive bar, it has that stale smell with a hint of cigarette smoke, the seats in the booths have seen better days, when you sit down you sink down in the middle. But we knew this was a dive before we went there, we went there for the pierogies. The jalapeno cheese pierogi was good, it was huge, thick dough, fried light brown and there was so much filling, the flavor of the filling was decent there was a lot of jalapeno pieces in it, the texture of the filling was not the smoothest. But it was just a pretty decent homemade pierogi. The potato and cheese pierogi was not impressive, the filling was bland and flavorless. We tried most of the places on Pittsburgh's top 10 pierogi list and Dorothy 6 came in first place for us, but starlight lounge was definitely worth trying.

Fantastic pierogies as featured by Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Each is about half a pound. Definitely a dive-bar type of place but, if you're looking for Pittsburgh pierogies, this is the place. Reserved a star as the cleanliness could have been better.

Tried the Polish Platter here, really good. A generous portion that is easily enough for two people. And it was only about $12. Very reasonably priced menu. They're known for their pierogis and I can see why. Homemade, HUGE, and delicious!

It's a little old aging hole in the wall so naturally they have the best traditional cuisine in Pittsburgh - pierogis with kielbasa & sauerkraut and a Pittsburgh salad :9 The food is amazing and big portions too! Definitely eat here if you're going through Pittsburgh

Had family in town and been meaning to try this place myself and it did not disappoint! Had the Polish platter, fish sandwich and took some of their massive perogies home cause it was Soo delicious!! Must visit place here in Pittsburgh!!

Such a quaint establishment!Open mic a big success.Come in hungry kitchen is open great menu choices! Would advise getting there before 7:00 to order dinner.

On Fridays during Lent, it is my favorite place for fish. Their fried fish sandwich is incredible. No other one around compares to it. The side of stewed tomatoes is really good. Fresh cut fries are also really good.It is a classic Pittsburgh region dive bar atmosphere. They have music regularly. I believe that Norm Nardini plays there most Fridays. They do have a sizable dining room in the back if you walk straight through the bar. The prices are right and the servings are huge.

Wonderful hospitality. Good band. Try the perogis. Bar takes up the middle of the room so space is limited. Could use some updated furniture. Food price was great.
