The views were amazing and we had a really great server. However, the food was absolutely underwhelming. I ordered the filet mignon and it completely over cooked and tasted like rubber. Absolutely do not recommend the filet.

Great food, wine, and service with views of downtown.

John was the perfect server for a lovely evening with friends on the patio. I would highly recommend the charcuterie tray, the East Coast Oysters, House Salad and black truffle french fries! Get the cheesecake for dessert.

This was our first time at Spirits and Tales and we had a very nice time. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious and has great views. The service was very amiable and efficient. The radish toast appetizer was an eye-opener. My wife had the Jail Island Salmon and Lentils which was outstanding. My only complaint was the doneness of my Lamb Chops. I ordered it medium rare and the waiter said that was how the kitchen liked to serve it. However, it came out closer to medium. Although it still tasted very good, it was a little disappointing. The Sweet potato/asparagus hash that came with it was unique and very tasty. The Bannana Sticky toffee pudding bread was great. The bread was more like a mix of a cake and a biscuit and really elevated the dish.

The new fashion drink by Mitchell Pohlot and exquisite onion soup, classic emblem of the house,The view of the big sales is fabulous, and the atmosphere has a good vibe. Thanks

Seated for 30 minutes before we had to force ourselves on a waitress that apparently wasn't ours because ours apparently wasn't going to do our table of two. Had to get drinks from the bar. Ordered a rare steak. It was well done. Drinks weren't very good. Had to ask for waters. It wasn't overly busy and there were plenty of waitresses. Didn't see any real reason for such a terrible experience.

The view was great. Seems to be for a younger crowd.

Great breakfast options, friendly staff and great views.

Food was adequate...but nothing sensational. No dessert available...why??? We had international guests ... the lunch was an embarrassment. Short staffed...waitress was helpful but did not fulfill our expectations...it was not her fault...needed additional staff. Venue was very nice...lovely view...which was the height of the lunch. Would under great caution recommend the restaurant to coworkers.

We chose to celebrate my partner’s birthday at Spirits & Tales because we wanted to revisit Pitt’s campus (his Alma mater) and enjoy the view from the top of The Oaklander. In my reservation notes, I requested that we be seated at a table with a nice view of Cathy, if possible. Typically, it seems like restaurants don’t get a chance to look at these notes and requests, but the staff at Spirits & Tales made it clear they cared about our special event and they did everything they could to accommodate our wishes. We had a lovely meal at a great table. Our waiter even included a complimentary dessert for my partner. We can’t wait to come back!
