Redbeard's was an awesome experience. We were with a group in the reserved area upstairs. They manage to focus on standard bar fare without too many frills to deliver just darn good food. There's nothing wrong with jazzed up and fancy food, but sometimes you just want a solidly good burger or piece of Chicken and Redbeard's delivers. In addition to good food the drink selections are decently sized and well rounded and the pricing is fair.Service was also excellent. Our son spilled his Froot Loops he brought to snack on and one of the employ offered to call the 7/11 across the street to see if they had more!!We hope to return to this location soon.
Stopped by for drinks before dinner. Service was fast and friendly. The drinks are reasonably priced. Looks lime a good place to hang out before a game.
Was enjoying the art's festival Saturday and wanted a cold beer being that they don't serve alcohol at the booths I was at a cross road with food and drink so I stopped in here and to my surprise not only the upstairs was place to go for dining and drinks but a place to enjoy a game bartender was attentive and service was good ? definitely like to come back.
Place is still great even post pandemic. Love their nachos and wings. You can order 32 oz beers and it's got TV's to watch sports. My go to sports bar when I'm downtown.
We have gone to Redbeard's twice in the last month and I have never been before. The first time we were in search of food after 10pm and their kitchen was still open. We sat downstairs at the main bar. The food was good, the atmosphere was decent. It wasnt too crowded. The second time, the bar was alot busier so we sat upstairs. It's nice to have that option. It was less crowded, the bartender was great and it was still a good vibe. Food was good the second time around also.
I always feel like reataurants downtown are either too dive-y or too fancy. This place strikes a nice balance between the two. The beer selection is solid and the sandwiches are surprisingly delicious. Every time I go here I'm satisfied by my experience.
We're from out of town (Canton area), and Redbeard's is one of our favorites. We come to Pittsburgh a lot, and it seems that we end up at Redbeard's a good bit. The food is great, good prices, and staff is always super fun and sweet. We did also steal a cup a few years ago, so maybe our patronage is guilt based, but we're always impressed
I was actually pleasantly surprised by the food. Been passing by here every day for years. Saw it as a place to get a beer after work most likely but I came in for lunch and had some great food. I got their BBQ Cowboy style burger and it had great flavor. It was cooked well. Came with ample amount of fries.
I stopped in on a Saturday and overheard what I assumed was a manger berating one of the waitresses until she was crying. I felt so bad and asked another waitress if this was a normal occurrence, to which she replied yes. Also there apparently was a recent spread of Covid through the staff in which employees were forced to come back within a week of contracting the virus and told to wear masks for one day before that was stopped. The chicken wings I got also weren’t cooked all of the way. I will never be going back to an establishment who treats their employees like that, can’t even do the absolute minimum to protect their employees during a pandemic and whos food isn’t even good.
Excellent staff, good food, well I have to say being from Houston, tx remind me of home.
