Excited to have finally gotten here. It was a tossup between the burger and the fried fish, but settled on the burger. Really simple sandwich that was so good. I'm not a mayo fan, so the fact that it's a vinegar slaw was right on, plus it made the sandwich kind of a cross between a burger and a sub with oil and vinegar. Splashes of hot sauce really added to the end results.
You cant go to Pittsburgh and not stop in for a sandwich. Good bang for your dollar in a very unique Pittsburgh setting, make sure you come here to the original. Big sandwich and an Iron City Beer $15, cant beat it. The mural is awesome
Best primantis anywhere hands down, fresh bread all the way up until closing time, foods up in minutes and the staff is so quick and nice! My go to primantis shop! Got the Capicola w chz and the pastrami w chz both were soo good ! They’ll add an egg if ya ask!
As good as always.Been coming here for 30 years. Neighborhood has changed a ton but Primanti is a Pittsburgh classic.Top 5 sandwich in the entire USA!
I have NO idea how this place has stayed in business so long. I ordered the "Original". Terrible. It was basically presliced deli meat. The roast beef was dark brown. Fries were under cooked and made up about 3/4 of the sandwich. Their "cole slaw" was some cabbage with a squirt of a sweet mayo mix. It wasn't even tossed with it. Seriously one of the worst restaurant sandwiches I've ever had. And that's saying something.
Fantastic food and service. Such a great place to grab a bite or to have a drink. Stop in and cool off from the insane heat. Enjoy a piece Pittsburgh history. Have the signature sandwich or think outside the box for a black bean burger. Whatever you choose is a great choice. You definitely won't leave hungry.
The sandwiches are always good. About once every ten years is it for me - not because I don’t like the food, but because I don’t like handheld food that falls apart and makes a big mess. But that’s what make Primantis’ sandwiches good - their overdressed with french fries, tomatoes and cole slaw. If you’re not anal like me you could become a regular.
Great customer service and the food was perfect. I got the pitts-burger and my son got the new Yorker. I liked the New Yorker better but both sandwiches were great.
Absolutely delicious! I got the Pitts-burger. Awesome staff full of hard workers. Got to meet Toni too! Such a nice lady - We will be going back soon. Make sure to buy a shirt from them!
Service was fine... But this is a tourist trap... The whole place was packed and felt dirty... the food was honestly really terrible. The fires were super soggy, and their sandwiches are 90% coleslaw and fries... Plus the bread they use is just white bread and is just too thick and flavorless. Do yourself a favor and just try literally anywhere else.
