Very clean and friendly bakery with a great selection. The items we purchased were very fresh and tasty. Sadly, the chocolate brownies are NOT anything like the brownies from Kaufmann's but they were still really moist and flavorful. It's always a treat to go here!

We visited this bakery on Wednesday. My teens had donuts and enjoyed them. I had the toasted almond jr. pastry and it was delicious. We also took some baked goods home: a thumbprint cookie (the French buttercream jimmie), an M&M cookie, and a pineapple cheese cup. The M & M cookie and the cheese cup were fine, nothing spectacular, but that thumbprint cookie was melt in your mouth goodness. If you are looking for an excellent cookie or pastry to serve at a party, or to enjoy for yourself, I recommend either the thumbprint cookie or the toasted almond pastry.

I was super surprised to actually enjoy the cake. I don't like birthday cake at all. I really enjoyed my wife's birthday cake a lot. It was a simple layered cake with buttercream icing. Very tasty.

I have walked past this Bakery numerious times but had always passed as it didn't look finished but today everything looked to be in proper order so I stopped in with my kids. Now I don't like to compare other bakery's but living in Oakmont I have frequented the famous Oakmont bakery because it's a 4 min walk and they have a decent selection and a lot of people have been there so I'll be using that as a baseline. Here we go.In terms of selection this Bakery has something for everyone, it's not nearly as vast as other bakery's but what they do have will please all tastes. We purchased a wide variety of desserts and all were excellent equal to Oakmont for the items that were similar and for something's like the gobs I actually prefered here better. The staff was friendly and we had a nice conversation with her as we were looking at items. In terms of pricing it's more expensive then Oakmont bakery by a few dollars. This is not unexpected as this Bakery is in an expensive area of Pittsburgh and the prices fall in line with what I would expect for the area.I would rate this place slightly behind Oakmont bakery mainly because the variety is not as much but again Oakmont pushes a ton of product per day and can afford to have a lot on offer because it's always so busy.If your in the area for dinner or shopping and want a tasty treat to take home with you or snack while your walking this is an excellent place to stop

We celebrated the birth of our granddaughter with the burnt almond tort. Fantastic taste and made the party that much better. We will definitely be back. KC grandparents.

Tried the tort for the first time. Delicious. I like that I could just buy a bar vs. the hole cake. They also sale individual slices of cake and they have a 50% off table in case you want to try something you normally wouldn't. I purchase the ham and cheese croissant which I ate while I was driving so sorry I have no pictures. And the root beer was delicious it was actually made with real cane sugar. ❤️ Definitely worth a stop. On street parking, pay at the kiosk with cash or card.

We made a special stop here to buy the famous almond torte!! Was so good!! Fully worth it!

Great....great...and totally GREAT !!

On a long weekend sightseeing tour of Pittsburgh...first stop had to be Prantl's Bakery on Forbes Ave. Read a lot about the amazing Almond Torte

New ownership has broken the local goodness that made Prantl's special. We've been getting cakes here for years. My wife went into the Squirrel Hill location to order a cake, "Sorry, we don't take cake orders anymore, you have to call," so she called the central number. "Sorry, we only make that cake seasonally now." I went in today to pick up the cake she ordered -- customized with yellow flowers for her mom's birthday. "Huh, we have your order, but it doesn't seem to have been delivered." They used to make them onsite. Twenty-five minutes later I left with a generic cake, since they couldn't find where my cake had gone or if it had been produced, …at least they gave it to me for free (hence, two stars instead of one). Guess I'll be making the drive out to Oakmont more often. Sad to see this happen to what was a great local business, but all bow to the almighty cost savings.
