Staff is helpful. Room smelled a little musty? Or something. Valet fast and easy. Very busy to drive around and navigate since it's downtown. Pretty lobby and nice hotel. Overall has been a good place to stay.
The hotel itself is nice, but dated and could use a renovation, especially the carpets on the room floors. The bathroom was pretty small. The bathroom door hits the toilet. The shower had great water pressure and hot water but anyone over 6ft may have to duck while in the shower. The staff is very nice... brought a water to my room after I checked in. Valet parking is $38 billed to the room and guys are very helpful. I had a meeting close by that was going past checkout. Valet let me put my stuff in the car and then reparked it until after my meeting.
The room was reasonably nice, although it was starting to feel a little dated. The bed was quite comfortable. Shower had good pressure, but didn't drain well. The lobby is beautiful. I found housekeeping to be a little pushy, especially after they knocked on my door with a do-not-disturb sign 90 minutes before checkout.
Check in was at 3pm. My husband was part of the bridal party so I was checking in. I (Megan) was toll it will be ready by 3:30. We had to get ready for our event that started at 5. However, after returning to the front desk 3 times the last at 4:14, our room was still not available. The excuse was the guest from the night before asked for a late check out. (not my problem) My brother-in-law went to the desk requesting (loudly) that our rooms be ready now. They quickly accommodated him and offered him two complimentary drinks. I tried 3 times nicely to get our room and got nowhere and a man with a loud voice tries once an gets rooms and free drinks. There are two issues here. The first being that there was no regard for you 3pm check in policy. And second I was treated completely opposite from my brother-in-law because he is male and loud. This was so disheartening for me that he was rewarded.
They have alot of good reviews so I picked to try it. 4 star etc.Staff is friendly and attentive.Rooms are outdated looking and need some repairs ( shower and fridge). Carpet seemed to need cleaning but again they are old school red so who knows )Locations seems to be great if you have biz downtown area. They have a lot of elevators so don't have to wait for ever to go up to your room etc.View non existent. Unless you consider looking at some dudes cubicle across the street a view . But then big city so expected.Distinct hotel ( not sure about 4 star) but I would not say luxury. They have been around for ever so old school feel to it.May be more expensive rooms are luxurious. Not bad experience Over all but I will probably try another place next time.
Very beautiful hotel. The staff were amazing, so kind and quick to help out with everything. Loved that they had valet parking. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water. I would have liked to see a few water bottles in the room given the cost but that is not a huge issue. It was conveniently close to everything downtown, we stayed for the Pittsburgh marathon. The staff were even kind enough to store our luggage after we checked out for a few hours until we were ready to leave the city. Overall it was a great experience and I would easily return anytime and will definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the Pittsburgh area.
First time staying at the William Penn. Lovely, historical downtown area. Hotel is very elegant, quite the visual experience! Very quiet, classy atmosphere. Staff was excellent: front desk, valet, bellman, waiters. Prompt service all around. Room was slightly smaller than expected. Both public and private areas were very clean and well maintained. Should have upgraded to a city view room as our room was a view of the brick walled building very close next door. Room was nicely appointed. Would have enjoyed a small chandelier in the closet area, instead of a plain ceiling fixture. (The public areas boasted stunning chandeliers!) Bed was very comfortable, soft linens. Shower had glorious water pressure! Bath towels were very clean, but stiff. Window shades provided excellent blackout for a nice sleep-in of a morning. Brunch in The Terrace Room was excellent. Nice variety of foods available, excellent waitstaff. Beautiful furnishings. Disappointed that The Speakeasy closed at 11:00PM on a Saturday night. Would have enjoyed a nightcap after our Broadway show. Within walking distance of many popular restaurants and venues. Felt very safe here. Key card entry required for elevators. Highly recommend this lovely hotel and would stay again with an upgraded city view room.
Unbelievable! That is the only word that comes close to describing the Omni William Penn Hotel. I was there to perform the wedding of my nephew at the hotel, and the surroundings were appropriate for such a glorious occasion. The staff, from Amber at the front desk, to Hanna who coordinated the wedding planning, to Eric and all the guys at the Bell staff and valet crew, each person was helpful and friendly. Everyone on the hotel staff treated the wedding party with the decorum befitting the regal architecture and ambiance of a fine old hotel. There are many grand hotels in that region of the country, but I cannot imagine a better location, hotel, and group of people for the celebration of a marriage!
This is a very fancy hotel, especially the lobby, it is very grand. Overall it was a good experience, the only complaint I have is the rooms seemed a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the hotel. The room was decent but had no microwave, the shower water pressure was inconsistent, and the wifi was spotty at best. The staff was friendly, especially the cleaning people they were very understanding and offered to clean the room at a later time when we were still in the room. Overall it is a good hotel and the location is great because you can walk to many of the great restaurants downtown, they are only a few blocks away.
This hotel is amazing! Luxury and a staff that goes above and beyond to meet your every need. I stayed for a couple days and honestly didn't want to leave the hotel. Great conference room and workout center. The rooms were very clean and the quality of the bedding and furniture was very good. I would definitely recommend the Omni if you have a downtown visit to Pittsburgh!
