Food was uninspired. Nakama salad was mostly iceberg lettuce. Tuna steak was cut up pieces of tuna. No sear no flavor! Avoid this mess
Absolutely would not recommend. I had a reservation for my birthday and never heard from the restaurant that they were closed??? Showed up and doors locked, no lights on, sign on door stating closed. Disappointed the restaurant did not have the audacity to even call me and let me know i needed to find somewhere else to eat. Was going to be my first time there and is definitely my last.
Made a reservation through open table for Saturday, July 30th. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the restaurant was closed with a sign saying it would be closed through August 1st. There was no mention of this through OpenTable. We had to scramble for new dinner reservations which was extremely disappointing.

My boyfriend and I drove an hour and were so excited for our dinner. We got to the restaurant and it was closed. There was no indication on their website about the closure and I was able to make the reservation still. Very disappointed.
We arrived for our dinner reservation only to find out the restaurant was closed! Since the restaurant had to close for supplier cost increases until August 1, reservations should NOT have been taken as if it was open! Extremely disappointed for lack of information shared online to let customers know the situation. We should not have had to call the restaurant to ensure it was open once we were able to make reservations online
Very disappointed. We made a reservation online. Arrived at the restaurant to find out they were closed until August 1st. It seemed to be a planned closure, so disappointed in that they allowed reservations to be made.
Chef was great! Food was great! The only issue I had was the obnoxious woman sitting at the grill next to us
While prices have had to rise everywhere, Nakamaâs increase seemed rather outrageous to me. There is far less food and where soup AND salad were included in the price of a dinner, NEITHER are included now and are BOTH an extra cost. I asked for double vegetables instead of rice, did not initially receive them and was given an extremely small plate afterwards and was then charged an additional $4 for them. The service was very slow (although our waiter was pleasant and apologized) and there werenât many people in the restaurant although it was a Friday night. I guess just another victim of COVID - sad to seeâ¦
Our server was really nice and attentive and our Hibachi chef was fantastic. Funny and friendly.
