Man I don't know if they were just having an off night but food was way too salty and lacked taste. Well kind of burnt. If I was the chef I would not be letting any of that food out of my kitchen. The Caso for the chips was great. Oh the shrimp way over like take them off before we add insult to them. They are already dead. Had the shrimp tacos and the pulled pork. Had some burrito that just tasted like beans so not sure what I ordered there.

I got the two taco deal with chips. I ordered both as authentic-style with corn tortillas. I thought authentic tacos were supposed to have toppings on them? Also, this is the first time I've ever ordered nachos and didnt get any salsa, or sour cream, or anything. 100% dont recommend

We were excited to try La Bodega for take out. Their website touts "fresh and authentic Mexican-American cuisine." Unfortunately, our first visit will be our last. Period. We ordered one taco with Chorizo, two tacos with Carnitas, and two tacos with Pollo Asado for a total of five, all "Ameri-way," and all on SOFT FLOUR TORTILLAS, plus a side of black beans and a side of rice. The black beans had a weird piece of uncut onion in them and they tasted like fish. No joke, I had to spit them out. The rice was over-salted, under-cooked, soggy, and inedible. One of the unwritten-Restaurant Commandments says, "Thou shalt not serve under-cooked rice."The tacos came on semi-hard corn tortillas, and the fillings piled so high that it was impossible to grab hold of one. What a total mess! The guacamole looked old and drab. The pork Carnitas appeared to have no seasoning and was paper-dry and tough. We ate what we could, but by then the rest of the tacos had hardened, so I put the filling from each of my remaining tacos on fresh flour tortillas we had on-hand. The Pollo Asado was flavorless and tough. The Chorizo was the only thing I liked but it was over-salted. By then I'd had it.We don't want to hear about being short-staffed, nor that we should expect less on a Sunday. There is no excuse in the world for serving food like this. What a way to waste $32.00.Never again!

Ordered delivery and got the Qaxaqueño and Chip Trio. It was okay. The burrito was a good size and there was lots of queso and guacamole with the Chip Trio. However, I'm giving this place three stars because the taste was just off. Maybe someone else will like it better. The queso and burrito were a bit too salty. Also the sauce in the burrito had a taste that I was just not expecting. I couldn't figure out what it was. Maybe it had something like cinnamon in it? Something that was faintly a mole? I am not sure. The guacamole was a bit bland for me. Could use some more lime or cilantro. If I eat here again, I'll probably try some other dishes.

On a scale of romance novels and documentaries, La Bodega is the spiciest romance with fresh flavors.I love tacos so much, and while my favorite restaurant on the South Side was already closed for the night, La Bodega was not. And dare I say that La Bodega may have elbowed its way to the top of my list? Shhhh, don't tell! From the taco options to the lunch box portion to the delicious churros, I was absolutely delighted with the portions, the cost, and the flavors. AND PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and order one of the agua frescas because their fresh-made juice is absolutely divine. If you love tacos, you MUST go to La Bodega ASAP.

Cat and Nelly made some of the best damn tacos I’ve had in a while and I felt welcomed as soon as I walked, I would highly recommend this place

How is this place called a taqueria but doesn't even serve the "Mexi" style tacos on corn tortillas? This place sounds good in theory, but the actual event was horrendous. First, the Carne Asada tacos are horrendous. The meat is already half-cooked and taken out of the fridge to be finished cooking. The steak appeared not moist after being taken out of the fridge. The amount of meat you get per taco is outrageous. You get maybe 4 pieces of measly Asada per taco. It's placed in a sour sauce that makes the entire taco soggy and inedible. The taste reminds me of a horrible first attempt at learning how to make a marrinade, but you add too much lime and makes the meat a disaster. While the meat was tender, you couldn't enjoy it with the taste of the taco. I would strongly advise anyone who is thinking about coming here to keep walking to another Hispanic resturaunt and save you the headache.

Really tasty! Enjoyed the carne asada taco especially. I thought the chocolate sauce was salsa and I put it on my tacos which was a mistake, but it was my mistake.

Flavor is not bad but the meat is so salty it is basically not edible. The first time we ordered it was so crazy salty we thought it had to be a bad batch. We ordered again...so extremely salty. Disappointing

Great Tex-mex. great burritos
