Portions were way too small for how much they cost. Rice refills cost $4 on top of that. It would've been a one-star experience, but the food did actually taste good.
everything was amazing! best korean food i’ve ever had, the dduk bok was especially delicious! we also got stone pot bibimbap, and the ja jang myeon, all dishes did not disappoint.
This place has been my go to for my fix of Korean food. There’s a saying that if people eating at the place are the same ethnicity as the food, the food is usually damn good. Every time I go this place is packed with Korean students and families so that has to say something for the quality. Regardless, try the jjajangmyeon or the deonjang jjigae!
Astounded there's even a negative review, but not everyone can have good opinions. Tho if you don't like the portions (not calling anyone out) for the price, udon is literally 11 bucks and lasted me two meals (most items in that menu section are 10-16 bucks and the portions are actually huge?? Store owner is the friendliest dude, and the hard work shows in their quality food. It's my favorite place, quality, and near all the other underrated gems on the street.
This is a small mom and pop restaurant located in a neighborhood near a few other restaurants. There is street parking. We got lucky that someone left a parking spot across the street from the restaurant as we were pulling up. If not, it looked like we may have had to park a few blocks away and walk. The food was delicious and authentic. They have stone pot bibimbap, which we love so we were pleasantly surprised. Drinks were in cans, not sure if this is due to Covid or their standard procedure. We had a great lunch and will return.
The banchan was delicious that is the one star. But I ended up with the ? ? ?. And the cook was making sounds in the kitchen like he was about to spit a loogie. ???
Terrible experience here. Wait for more than 2 hours. The taste is okay, but just okay! It’s nothing like a Korean restaurant here. Serve with the rice and kimchi during the middle of the meal. Really bad service but enforce us to give 20%+ tips.
The food was really good when my table finally got it.. the wait was about 50 minutes after we got seated. As of 10/9/21, there is only one person acting as both server and hostess :(
I really wanted to like this place, as the owners seem very hardworking and nice. Though I was ready to pay a bit more for authentic Korean food, I was very surprised to find that one entree (spicy stir-fried pork) was $21 or something ridiculous. When I asked if it was normally shared, the owner said it was one serving for one person. The portion was decent even for 2 people, but I expected it to be delicious for $21 and it was very average. Syrupy sweet and there were random vegetables tossed in. Actually, it tasted exactly like Chinese takeout, but much spicier. Perhaps I picked the wrong thing to order off the menu. The banchan was delicious, but portions were tiny compared to other Korean places and they only gave us 3 dishes. Extra rice was $3 a bowl and the bowls are tiny as well. Also, they don’t give you cups of water. You have to pay $1.50 for bottled water. And since most dishes are spicy, you’ll see everyone around you doing that. We spent over $20 per person even after sharing the entree, had to stay almost 2 hours in the restaurant because service was slow, and left feeling pretty dissatisfied.
Probably the best place. Genuine service, and very close to authentic taste of Korean cuisine. Fortunate to find this gem in Pittsburgh. Go and enjoy, guys!
