Loved this place. I usually do enjoy Kimptons but not all of them nail the right combination of informality/boutiquishness and luxury. This one does. Check in staff was friendly and they had preupgraded me based on my IHG status and room request. The room was spacious, tasteful and beautifully appointed, with high end bed and bedding, fun and functional furniture and lighting and an absolutely fabulous bathroom with a freestanding tub and massive shower enclosure. Could have lived in that bathroom. The evening social hour featured a nice selection of wines and beers and a really tasty appetizer from the bar. Breakfast at the Commoner was well presented though I personally would like to see the addition of a few vegetarian items. Another positive of this Kimpton (for me) was that I asked to be on a dog-free floor and as far as I could tell I was. I never understood how allowing pets made sense in this caliber of hotel. Two minor suggestions I can think of are to supply a water bottle or two in the room (tap water came out warm and didn't taste great) and don't put decorative pillows on the beds adjacent to the sleeping pillows (unhygienic since they never get washed), Still, overall a great stay and a property I'd recommend to others.

We have stayed in Kimpton Hotels is several cities, always enjoying its boutique nature. The Monaco in Pittsburgh is just not up to par. Good people here but lacking outdoor space. The top floor is a beer garden but not open Monday or Tuesday. The reason short of staff. When trying to get a table for Wednesday night the hotel front desk told us they could not help us. Had to go find someone in the restaurant even though it was not open. Open Table could not give us a reservation. Also no concierge. Just needs improvement.

The Good - Beautiful hotel, centrally located, freely accepts pets and the parking garage is really close. The Commoner bar and serving staff were awesome! Aside from the 3-wedding day, the sleep quality was really good. The Bad - The closest place for a pet to do their business is a small rectangle of dirt that is about 50 yards away. There is a small park a couple of blocks away but it is closed on Sundays and holidays. The hotel desk staff was not experienced or friendly. The Ugly - Was told that as a Diamond Elite member I was entitled to free breakfast from The Commoner each day. Was confirmed by two other hotel representatives. Turned out that was not the case, and I had to pay for one of the days. Also, three weddings were booked on Saturday. The place was a nuthouse.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while visiting from Ohio. We wanted to stay at a nicer hotel that was nearby food options and the PPG Paints Arena. The Kimpton Hotel did not disappoint! The decor is unique, fun, and almost whimsical. ✨️ Checking in/out was simple and our room was comfortable. The complimentary tea and coffee was a nice addition so we could just grab and go. ☕️ We didn't have breakfast or dinner at the restaurant in the hotel but the place looked very nice and upscale. I would definitely book here again if we were to visit Pittsburgh again. ✅️

When traveling with dogs, and needing an overnight stay, this is the best place in Pittsburgh! We could have a fancy cocktail in the upstairs lounge, along with the critters. They are made completely welcome, with the Kimpton promise of no fees, and the only rule is they can't be too big to fit through the front door. We left the boys in our incredibly fancy room, went downstairs to their restaurant for a delicious dinner, and returned again the next morning for an even more delicious breakfast. This is not our first stay here, and we will be back. Pittsburgh offers a lot to do, and one day we'll have the chance.

Before travelling to any city I tend to look up travel blogs with advice on where to stay, eat...etc. Both of the blogs I read suggested Kimpton Monaco in Pittsburgh. We were not disappointed. Everyone was so kind, from the valet parking staff and especially Grace at the front desk who checked us in. My family and I would definitely stay here again. My only disappointment was that the Biergarten was not open.

Terrific stay. When a reservation error had us on a quiet floor (canine free), the staff upgraded us to a corner, queen jr suite to provide more room for our doggo and Mom and I to relax and enjoy. They also provided a bed and bowls for the queen! Great location and staff. Highly recommend.

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. This website will compare countless booking websites and typically will have prices much cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This resort is one of the most well known in this area. I've been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I'm sure!Walking into this hotel and encountering the friendly faces of Grace and Trevor made our night. My daughter and I are in town to visit Point Park University and I cannot say enough about how helpful and nice these guys were. On top of that the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and gorgeous. Whenever we are back in town we will definitely stay here again! Amazing service and location! What a treat!

The room is extremely small. Decor was very nice. Loud from all the horns and bells from around the hotel. Elevators SUPER slow. Not blown away. Expected more. No electric charging option for valet parking. What nice hotel doesn't have this option? Super antiquated.

I had a great experience! The service was excellent - at check in they asked if I wanted coffee or tea in the room and provided a tea kettle and tea at my request. Room service is limited but the front desk texted everyday to see if I wanted new towels etc. everyday. I had an in room massage with Christina and it was fabulous and she was very kind to accommodate my schedule. The happy hour and room service was also great and I appreciated the workout room and the in room yoga mat.
