Went on New Year’s Eve. Extremely slow in serving food. The kitchen put priority to takeout and groups. I was alone and waited for an hour while a group of guests seated after me got food first. The cooking was rushed and didn’t taste good enough.
All of us loved the food here! Great place to dine in with friends, delicious food. They also customize for dietary restrictions. Great service :)
Of all the Asian restaurants we have tried in squirrel hill, this is my favorite. The food is hearty and really delicious. We got the fried pork cutlet and authentic mushun pork among other things. It was so good that we didn't have any leftovers despite having ordered quite a lot of food for two people. Will definitely come back for more before we leave Pittsburgh.
Quantities getting smaller every time I order, shredded pork should really be sold as cucumber salad, and crispy pork is over fried and hard as rock, don’t go
The most authentic Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh. Service at this place is at another level. Be sure to ask for the hot tea they offer for free—it’s simply amazing to take a sip of hot tea in a chilly fall afternoon.
Pretty happy with Jian's overall. One of the dishes I ordered was not prepared. Another was prepared in its place. They corrected the mistake and gave me the incorrect order for free. Their fried rice is the best I've ever had. The hot and sour soup isn't the best in terms of hot and sour soups... but it's a really yummy soup. Just not what I was expecting of hot and sour. This my second time ordering from them and I will definitely be returning.
We ordered takeout and were told 20 minutes, but it was more like 45. Not sure about the glowing reviews of this place, maybe the traditional Chinese menu is better. We had Amazing Chicken that was mostly breading and tough chicken, not very amazing. The fried wonton noodles were incredibly stale. Appetizers (cucumber in sauce and beef pot stickers) were good. There are better places for Chinese food in Squirrel Hill.
Very small resturant in a basement with no safety egress or windows. Food was abundant but overall not flavorful to me. My husband is Chinese and he liked his choices which were mainly organ meats. The bear paw tofu was tasty. Service is ok . I will not return.
Delicious food. Staff was pleasant and provided good service. Friendly atmosphere.
Their Zigong grilled fish is the best grilled fish in Pittsburgh! The service is good too.
