One of the best places I’ve stumbled upon in a long time! I was traveling for work and wanted a mid afternoon breakfast spot which after some quick research I found myself sitting at the bar at Grandma B’s.Dorian (owner) and the other gentleman were two of the friendliest guys I’ve EVER met. They are the picture perfect example of how you should run a restaurant. These guys didn’t know me from a hole in the wall and treated me like family, literally! After ordering I realized they were cash only I informed them that I was going to head to a bank quick to get cash. Dorian insisted to eat first and get the cash later. After finishing my meal (steak and eggs, great choice if I may) Dorian said don’t worry about the bill, I can pay next time and additionally gifted me an order of their chicken fries on the house.Class act here all the way around. As generous of an offer as it was I still went to the bank afterwards and returned with the cash but give this place a shot if you haven’t! I promise, you won’t be disappointed in the least.
Great food! 10/10! The people are so kind there and it's a local, black owned business that's great to support! That being said it is quite small so honestly if you don't mind I'd suggest getting it for takeout.Also it is a predominantly POC area so to my fellow white people, if you're racist or just generally privileged and fragile, don't bother them.
The guys were great and welcoming. Very chill vibes. Most importantly, the Big Al Burger was HALAL and AMAZING. The best in Pitt if you’re looking for halal food.
this honestly might be one of the only original and authentic restaurants in the greater pittsburgh area, grandma b's is has the greatest costumer service i've seen. the guy working there will make your day that much better, they bring you in and make you feel at home. the food there is also epic, 5 stars from me
First time visiting here. Great food. Seasoned to perfection. Dorian, the cook and owner and Marcus were really cool. Very knowledgeable about the city. If you're ever in the area, make sure you drop by and don't forget to get the special fries.
Absolutely delicious food and definitely the best customer service in this city.My family and I enjoyed the food.I have no complaints whatsoever about this place.
Loaded Fries , french toast and homemade Ice Tea is the absolute best!
I visited this place while in Pittsburg, and man o man, they did not disappoint. I had the breakfast there. Great food-made to perfection. The special fries were on point. Great conversation with the owner/cook, Dorian and Marcus about the history of the city. Learned a lot. Looking forward to going back.
I love this family own and operated establishment. The food is great and the folks are wonderful. They treat you like family. Damian the owner meets no strangers. I always leave with a smile.
Really enjoyed our 1st stop here. The staff was great.. very friendly.. The atmosphere was relaxed, just like a neighborhood spot. For some, It could also be loud for the same reason, alot of people know each other. The food was just as I expexted, like a good home cooked meal. The home fries are a must, as are the dirty grits!! Wish I lived closer. We will definitely be returning with a few more people to enjoy this gem. The space is very limited tho, so don't plan on bringing your family and sitting at the same table together to enjoy a meal.
