This little coffee shop was the best! The owner is super nice, and their chocolate chips cookies are amazing! We had the Frappuccinos, cappuccinos, and regular coffees… delicious! A definite must go to!!
Don’t come here! Coffee was the WORST I have EVER had, and I always drink local coffee when I travel! It was VERY dirty and poorly managed. Counters were filthy and all the coffee machines that have probably been in there since the 90s look like they haven’t been cleaned for years! I sat inside and waited for about 5 minutes observing the poor condition everything was in and with the cash drawer sitting wide open and the fact that nobody was inside. Finally someone (I guess the owner) came running inside to take my order. I asked for a hot Carmel Latte and I got a luke warm cup of what tasted like a cheap gas station coffee and when I took a drink the entire bottom was literally full of coffee grounds! At $5 a cup this guy is probably doing very well for himself getting one-off business from tourists like me who will probably never be back anyways! Save your money and go ANYWHERE ELSE!!!The owner was nice enough to give me my money back but I cannot believe they even bother keeping this place open. They also own an ice cream shop next door that is just as dirty and poorly run. Their soft serve machines are some of the oldest and grossest machines out there. Again, don’t waste your money!
This is our favorite coffee shop in the area and we always make a point to stop in when in Pittsburgh. We come up from SC every Thanksgiving and have made it a tradition to take the kids up the incline and walk over to Grand Brew for the best latte ever. Highly recommend!
The owner is so kind and generous. This is seriously the BEST chai tea latte I’ve ever had. I’ve never been a fan before and he INSISTED I try his. I’m in love
I read the review about the unpleasant experiences, especially owner being on the phone, not caring customers walking in, not wearing mask… so I was mentally prepared for all of that. However, being in a loud place (owner talking on the phone and with his friend) with a foam cup of tea still surprised me ? I will go somewhere else next time.
So bummed. This place has so much potential. We walked in a there were zero employees. After about 5 minutes a man rushes in saying “do you need something, I’m busy as sh!t next door.” The drink was marginal served in a boring styrofoam cup. Owner says rudely that he can barely get cups and straws. “You’re lucky to get that.” I’m an out of town we and was bummed at the service.
The guy behind the counter was nice enough and it was a cute cafe. I got a couple small almond milk lattes and they definitely tasted like regular milk, but even ignoring that it just wasn't very good. And I got an apple pastry that was so sopping wet I couldn't eat it so I tossed it. And for all that it was about $16. Starbucks prices for gas station quality. Not ideal. The ice cream shop next door is fantastic though.
My family and I stopped in to use the restroom and take a break after getting off the incline. We were charged $19 for two cookies and a piece of fudge. There are no prices listed for the pastries, so I swear he made up the cost. The food was okay but not $19 good. The owner was also on his phone using some profanity. I did not appreciate that with my kids around. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Chai tea is the best I’ve ever had! Nice conversations with the man serving us, enjoyed the whole experience :)
This little café is so amazing! The hot chocolates are to die for! The place is cash only so make sure to have lots of cash for some delicious drinks! The hot chocolate is very sweet and not piping hot. Best hot chocolate I ever had! ❤️
