The service was very polite and attentive once we ordered but was a little slow to start because they were very busy. But have patience because the food is great!!! Very casual setting that mostly serves students but it's worth the trip, the sushi chef is amazing and will come out and talk to you if you have questions. Try the mango shrimp sushi it is delicious and something you can't find anywhere else!* they also have hot foods and mochi!
Amazing food every time I’ve gone!
My favorite day-to-day sushi go to! The fish is always fresh, the prices are reasonable, and the service is always wonderful. They have both great nigiri and simple rolls (the fish quality is always top notch) and delicious big rolls too! Enjoy!
Our new favorite sushi place!! When we arrived the staff members were all very sweet, and our server was so patient with me. This is a plus because I can never make up my mind! Especially when there are this many great options to choose from. We got the sashimi platter deluxe, the pretty roll and my favorite, the mango roll. All of the fish was very fresh and presented beautifully. Not to mention the amazing value! This whole plate was around $60. Some places would charge that much for the sashimi alone! We will definitely be in again! - wellfedartist.net
We keep coming back to this place. Start to finish, the experience is wonderful. We've never had to wait for a seat, the restaurant is very clean, the ambiance is casual but still feels special, the food is brought insanely quickly, the waitstaff is polite and attentive while still leaving you in peace. Most importantly, the food is delicious. Everything we've tried has been excellent. Ordering is so difficult - we want to explore the menu but we're also craving the incredible things we've already eaten there. For the quality you're getting, you can't beat the price. This feels like a real hidden gem. Squirrel Hill has so many incredible restaurants, but this is the one we keep coming back to.
Had the Godzilla roll and Spicy tuna roll for takeout. Both were excellent…We’ll be back!
Sushi was delicious and the staff were super friendly. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy either. Our bill was on the pricier side but comparable to other sushi places we've been to. Highly recommend for sushi lovers.
We're always looking for new sushi places to try and this place was great. We arrived around 6 on a Friday night and were the only in house diners for about 10 minutes. They seem to get a ton of to-go orders. We ordered the Spicy Girl Roll, Queen Roll, Philly Roll, snd Scallop Roll. All were fresh and tasty but our favorite was the Queen with spicy crab and mango. We also shared the Tempura dinner, which was super crispy with a ton of veggies and 3 shrimp and served with some of the best rice we've ever eaten. The place quickly filled to capacity before we left. If you love fresh sushi, its a must ty.
Pork cutlet curry with scallops hand roll. Definitely recommend hand roll. Sushi rice is on point with the sourness. The cutlet might need more salt but the outside is crunchy. Curry taste good as well.
Just wanted to grab something quick before a movie that was across the street. Very sparce decorations, not alot of frills. Looks more like small takeout joint with just a couple of tables, but sometimes that indicates decent food. Got some green tea, which was just Celestial seasonings tea bags. Kinda wanted a pot of tea or at least for it to be hidden if using. Anyway, salmon poke bowl was huge and super fresh. Could absolutely split between two people and the price was right for what you get. Not a bad joint.
