management is not helpful at all. the place needs remodeled. has a horrible odor.
I forgot that last time I ate at Buca I said it would be the last. This was a great reminder. Long delay getting in.. Dirty tables everywhere. Slow service though I don't believe it was the server's fault. Very expensive for the quality of food you get.. Won't be back.
This was our annual visit to Pittsburgh. We usually go to the Olive Garden. But this restaurant takes reservations and was in a convenient location. The facility itself looks beat up. The service was the best part. I would say the food had a homemade quality which was ok but not special for a night out.
It was so delicious! Beware if the HUGE portions! Hubby and I shared the baked rigatoni and took 3/4 of it home! Canât wait to enjoy the leftovers!

I'll start with the good - our waitress was great! We used to love going to Buca but the past couple times the food has been sub-par. Seems like ever since Covid. Everything tastes like it came from frozen. Sauces don't taste fresh or homemade. In the past the food has been much much better. Also, could benefit from some updates. We probably won't be back unless there are some major changes.. its too expensive for the quality of food you receive.
I made reservations to celebrate my wife's b-day with family. The restaurant definitely needs updated/remodeled. It seems very "used" and worn. Overall, everyone enjoyed the food. After speaking to a really nice person there earlier in the day (Lance), I was anticipating at least a dessert for my wife and singing happy birthday to her (he said they do a nice birthday celebration). I'm not even sure if they do that, but when I asked the waitress, she said they were short-staffed with only two people working. So, if some sort of birthday celebration is standard here, we got the shaft. Our waitress was also a bit slow at times and disappeared for 15 min or more as she was waiting on other tables. Not really her fault though. I would expect a dedicated server for a party of 17. That's on the manager. I haven't been to Buca in probably 10 years, and it will likely be another 10 before I return (if ever).
Pasta but enough sauce; dessert too late; only thing good was salad
I ordered take out and one entire side of the chicken had been burned and so the entire dish tasted burned. There was no butter or anything for the bread so it was just really dry. The side salad was nice but it was packaged below the hot meal so it was warm. I would not order take out from here again.
