Fun place to dance with friends without feeling judged, drinks are priced well and there’s a large selection. Overall, always have a great time!
We really liked the vibe and music when we went in but the staff was so extremely rude to us that our entire group left. Definitely not worth a $10 cover. Absolutely would not go back again, there are much better places to visit in Lawrenceville
A little edit after the owner’s kind response:I really appreciate the response! Totally understand about not being able to bring in a bottle; I didn’t know about the bottled water, but that’s very helpful to know for next time! I was asking the bartender for water haha. Thanks again, yinz.I haven’t been to Belv’s in about 7 or 8 years. I moved back to Pittsburgh recently and used to frequent this spot back in my youth, so I went to their 2000’s dance night. The DJ was awesome! However, it’s very much a different atmosphere than it used to be. I miss it when it was more divey, and you could smoke in there. Trick is to order basic cocktails to avoid the pricey ones on the board (gin and tonic was $5 which is a lot in my opinion, but better than the $9 dark and stormy lol) bathrooms are stocked with random stuff like mints and tampons. One thing this bar DESPERATELY needs is a self serve water dispenser. They don’t let you bring a bottle in, but having to ask the bartender for a tiny cup of water every time is such a waste of everyone’s time. I’ll probably go again if they have an 80s night again, but my nostalgia makes me feel “meh” about this place.
Cool place to see eclectic indie bands and other fun events. I have gone to many themed dance nights here including 80's night, goth night, 2000s pop, Indie night, 90s night, and had a blast at all of them! Also make sure to ask for a Pickle Back!
Usually lively, often a wait on weekends. They have pool, darts, a bar. No longer have roller skating.
The bartender here was extremely rude. Apparently the bartender could not make anything but basic drinks. Whenever I asked for any recommendations he told me that he “was not playing that game” and would be back whenever I made up my mind. There is also typicality a cover charge to even get in. The place itself was also dated and was pretty empty on the people. 3.8 out of 5 star is higher than I would expect after going here. I was hesitant to even go in the first place based on the reviews but I will never go back.
Don't go here expecting to get any of the specialty cocktails they have shown on the various menus. The "bartenders" are rude and apparently only will make drinks that are 2 ingredients. Why offer so many drinks you can't make? Tried multiple drinks and not one was able to be made with no explanation. Poor service
Good vibes but the bartender didn’t know what a Dirty Shirley was which I thought was odd (it’s just sprite, grenadine and vodka so pretty simple). Maybe the drink isn’t as well known as I thought it was? I got a vodka cranberry instead and it was very heavy on the vodka. I think maybe it could have been a weird night for them so I’ll have to go back and see if the drink situation is better. Otherwise, they were all very nice and my friends and I had a lot of fun!
Fantastic spot! The security guard was the sweetest, the prices for the drinks were good, I went on a Friday night and it wasn’t too packed. Very good set up, my boyfriend could play pool while I danced my heart out on the dance floor! Loved it.
Our friend's wife recently moved from CA to Pittsburgh so we decided to bar hop in Lawrenceville to get her familiar with the area. This was our third stop of the night with a group of four girls and five guys. Upon arriving, we waited in line for our turn to show our ID and get in. When it was our turn, we went to hand our IDs to the the bouncer and he said to us "You need to back WAY up. You see that? There's one door. How do you expect people to enter and leave?" I calmly told him we were handing him our IDs (a piece of paper on a wet floor sign said to have your IDs ready). He said "Well you also need a $7 cover charge, vaccination card, ID, and LISTEN TO ME." I said "you just let our three friends in a few spots ahead of us without any of that." To which he responded "I don't care, you have to listen my rules." We ended up leaving. Bouncer must have been having a rough day, but our friend from CA was not happy at all. DO NOT RECOMMEND
