The bad:My daughter had made reservations at this restaurant for 10 people but was told we could increase the number to 16 people. When my daughter called, they said we could only have 10 people (so we had to dis-invite people). How messed up is that ? They should call to confirm but they didn't. It was a graduation dinner.When we finally got arrived with our "10" guests, 4 people ordered RARE steaks. All of them arrived well done. Most of us were too embarrassed to send the orders back. My 12 year old son said it was too over-cooked and dry and sent his back.There was someones hair in the pasta that they gave us. I had the waitress send it back.I ordered a bottle of red wine from Cakebread. They gave us a completely different bottle of wine. Of course they opened it and served it so we had to buy it (so check your bottle of wine to insure it's the right bottle)The good:The appetizers were pretty good.The view was fantasticAtmosphere was over all pretty goodThey gave the kids free dessert to make up for itwait staff was fantastic - I gave her an extra tipWould I go back to this restaurant ? Probably not. It was an over-all disappointing restaurant for the amount of $$$ we paid. Basically they are charging fine dining prices but there is definitely room for improvement.
So happy that we choose this restaurant for our honeymoon dinner!
I gave the food 4 stars only be cause I asked for a well done strip and it look has a lot of pink in it to the point I only at 2 bites of it. Otherwise it was great service, and such a beautiful setting. Bonus it was fireworks night at the Penguins game!
This was our third visit and we can’t wait until the fourth. From the time you enter to your last bite of dessert or last sip of after dinner drinks, Altius does not disappoint. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. The food is fabulous and delicious. The atmosphere is upbeat…not too quiet and not too loud. Highly recommend.
Sons college graduation
The food and service was excellent. I opted for the pork chop, very flavorful and cooked perfectly. My wife had a special, crab cakes, very tasty. Had the wild boar appetizer, porcini mushroom bisque, and a wonderful dessert. Highly recommended.
Dinner was fantastic. Our server Adam was friendly, attentive, and knowledgable about the menu and also gave us ample time to chat and make our selections. We never felt rushed, just sincerely welcome. It was a wonderful meal and a stunning environment with the view. I can’t wait to come back and ask for Adam again.

Every time we visit, it's nothing short of outstanding. Perfectly seasoned, balanced and composed food, with so much thought to color, texture and presentation. Also, we have had fantastic and friendly service, that has been the right mix of familiar and professional. I wish I could eat here every week.
