As a non-vegan, I admit I was initially sad to hear that Allegro had switched over to plant based recipes, but I am happy to say that I love what they make just as much as ever! Everything I've had has been truly amazing - fluffy cruffins, delicious rugelach (try the chocolate cardamom!), rich hamentaschen, tasty and filling sandwiches. Both vegans and non vegans have been thrilled with what I brought to share. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I so deeply appreciate the requirement to wear a mask in the bakery. One of very few places I actually feel safe these days as someone with high risk family members. Go - you won't regret it!

A plant-based bakery! I was so excited because I am not able to eat dairy. The cinnamon rolls and morning buns were awesome!
Stopped in while traveling. Cute little place with lots of breads and baked goods. I tried an avocado sandwich on the recommendation of the person at the counter. It was delicious! I loved how fresh the bread and veggies were. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in town to try more of the menu.
The vegan cinnamon roll is quite possibly a perfect food. It's not too sweet, it's soft and flaky inside but with crunchy crisipies that taste like carmelized butter on the outside.I've never had something I didn't love. I think for days about their sandwiches. I can never pick among the baked goods. My wife and I are both vegans and cannot be luckier thank living walking distance from this fantastic bakery.
Everything is delicious! The staff is sweet and efficient. So glad to have Allegro as my neighborhood bakery.
Best bread anywhere in the Pittsburgh area…worth our 30 minute drive to buy!! And if you want to treat yourself to the BEST cinnamon roll - buy one and savor it!! Flavor is incredible and one roll can feed 2 people easily!! If they ever make the flat non-iced sugar sprinkled cinnamon rolls again- I will buy them all!! Those are absolute perfection in taste and texture..piece of Heaven!!
Not “great for a vegan bakery,” just a really great bakery that is also vegan! The croissants are fantastic, and I also love the cinnamon rolls and morning buns. If I’m lucky enough to stop in when they have the chocolate cherry sourdough, I can’t resist picking one up :)
