Seriously ?. Get the kale ceaser salad its amazing and I know you're thinking ugh kale but wow. I literally don't want any other salad...Second time ordering and loved everything. Brisket was so good and tender. The turkey ? and the pork was amazing. The mac is creamy and delicious. The previous order we had the sandwiches and they were loaded and awesome. I wish I had pictures to share but it all went too fast!
I've had a chance to eat from many competitors out on the BBQ competition circuit because of my job working with a charcoal company. I'm a massive fan of barbecue, but I rarely eat it at a restaurant and my experience with a take-out order here was a hint as to why. The sauce was actually amazing, but the pulled pork sandwich featured near ice-cold pork (my walk home was less than five minutes). The flavor of the meat wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that. The pickles shouldn't be the star of a BBQ sandwich, in my opinion. I suppose I may try it again because of its proximity to me and the space is really awesome.
Yes.The sandwiches take effort, and commitment to finish. It is an arduous battle of gluttony and satiety. You put it down, and find yourself holding it again. Confused. But happy. The brisket, bbq sauce, mustard, pickles are a perfect match. The sandwich calls to you. You wake up thinking about it. How long has it been? How did this happen?I should have been a pair of ragged claws, scuttling across the floors of silent seas. We do not deserve such art.
Ok. I really don’t understand how people compare this place to Texas BBQ. Not even close. I will say the briscuit sandwich wasn’t bad. The meat was tender and not dry, and I liked whatever sauce they use. But I fear that the sauce may not be homemade considering they use cheese from a jar(white cheese at that) for their Mac n cheese. No thank you. Fresh cheese or nothing at all. I had my hopes up for their corn bread from all the reviews I read. I don’t know how you mess up corn bread. Corn bread from the box would of been better than the lump or corn CAKE they gave me. Seriously I felt like I was eating cake. Idk what they put in there but that’s not traditional corn bread. Non traditional can be great, but that’s not a good rendition of it. This is just a gentrified hipster bbq joint that just OK at best.
This is some top tier BBQ. Well cooked meats and flavorful sauces. The brisket sandwich was delicious. Queso Mac is a nice variation on the classic mac & cheese.
10/10 Recommend! Super flavorful & tender! Got the pork short ribs & the brisket sandwich, I stuffed myself silly! Please try this place out!!
Smoke and chop sandwhich was stuff full of tasty & smokey brisket. Every was fullfilling except for 5 dollar smokr bread pudding which was tooo tiny but it good which made it seem to dissappear even faster.
Best BBQ in Philly no doubt. I grew up on real Texas BBQ and this is at least as good (if not better) as those legendary spots in central Texas.
Great food, nice employees. But what was the stuff on my mac and cheese? Spicy dorito crumbs? Nasty!
Holy hell. Their brisket BLT is simply the best BBQ sandwich I’ve had in Philly. The brisket is Top 3 I’ve had in the country, but the addition of smoked bacon and perfect sandwich architecture really put it over the edge. The dessert is good and the slaw is great.
