Not the experience I was expecting. Very limited food menu, dining room closed on a Saturday night with only seating open in the bar for dinner, restaurant was near empty, server was not knowledgeable.
A great place with great food - our waiter was a little too busy but very good otherwise.
The food was excellent but the portions were small. The Oxtail Small Plate was excellent as was the Duck Fried Pretzel, The Manicotti stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach was very good. I ordered the lamb chops which were very good but they were small (2 bits each) and expensive. For the price, I would have expected 3 chops. I guess inflation has hit the number of lamb chops. The server was over-extended but tried his best to service our table. There was a very large party that he was tending along with 3 other tables at the time in our area, Overall the food was excellent and we will return as this is one of our favorite pre-theater places to go.
It was attractive but dirty. The food selections were weirdâ¦cereal and milk on the menu was actually asparagus soup with marshmallows in it. Tasted pretty good but I donât think I would ever order it again. The waitress kept making mistakes and then comped our water and then our cocktails to apologize. The place was pretty empty on a Saturday night. It was the only last minute rsvp we could find at an upscale restaurant.
We always enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at Violet especially sitting near the windows.
Good but nothing special. Service Wass better than the food. But "OK." especially if you're going to the theater.
Precision service from start to finish - if you are going to a show in the area and would like to eat just before curtain - this is the place to go.

The appetizers and dessert were amazing. The Entrees were good but not as outstanding as the other meals. I love the decor and ambience.
I was hoping for more from a Michelin Star restaurant. The waitress wasnât knowledgeable about what was on the plate and her shoes were squeaking on the sticky floor. The country pork was overdone and very salty. The Philly was the best part . Desserts ( choux and Carmel ice cream) were adequate. Nothing I couldnât get from any chain . Overall , just a feeling of mediocrity. Arenât Michelin Starâs supposed to bring the â wow â factor.
