Food 8/10Absolutely outstanding happy hour deals and drinks. We loved the Hugo aperitif, not too strong but very refreshing. The small plates also were very solid, but the short ribs were very tough and chewy, don’t order that. The fried zucchini were really good, and the agnolotti was not bad but not something you need to order, the truffle flavor wasn’t especially strong. We ordered the garganelli, and since my friend is gluten free, her garganelli came with the same sauce but different pasta shape. Really enjoyed the al dente home made garganelli, great shapes to hold sauce, had just the right amount of bite.Atmosphere 8/10Quite a small restaurant, really dim lighting and very modern and sleek lighting, reminded me of the Ace Hotel in NYC. Quite loud inside as happy hour progressed, and it was a little tight at the bar. There was a lot of table space at the bar, just not a lot between seats. Huge air vent spews out hot air right above the door, not that great.Service 8/10We came Friday early evening, no reservations, and were lucky to get seated at the bar. There was a table that was free until 6pm, but we didn’t want to rush ourselves. Food came up really quickly, and the server was really nice.
Delicious! Chicory salad, grilled artichokes and pappadella with pork ragu were outstanding. They make all the paste onsite. Solid wine list . Service friendly and efficient. Good portions. Nice relaxing vibe. Lots of couples chatting. Music was not too loud. Inside not too cold either.
Solid restaurant. The bread is outstanding, I would return just for more. The pasta is also good, but not the best I’ve had. There is an entire page of pasta shapes on the back of the menu, yet they don’t serve all of them. Our waiter told us it’s just for reference… It’s not the best place for vegetarians so keep that in mind.
Everything was very good except the Pappardelle. Ratings: Focaccia w/ burrata (5/5), Gnoccho Fritto (5/5), Tagliata Salad (4/5), Agnolotti (4/5- could have been warmer), Pappardelle (3/5- could have been more flavorful and saucy).Ambiance was cool. I didn’t like that our table was super close to two other round tables. We basically sat and ate dinner with strangers. Also, it was kind of loud and I couldn’t hear the waiter.Overall, food was very good and we will definitely be back for the Focaccia and Gnoccho Fritto!!
I can confidently place my stamp of approval and add this place to my vetted list of restaurants. I had the black truffle agnolotti and it exceeded my expectations. Cocktails were good too and so was dessert. The focaccia bread with burrata was good, but I wouldn’t say it was as good as the other stuff. Service was good and quick. Ambiance was very pleasing.
The focaccia is the best restaurant bread I’ve ever eaten, before you put the AMAZING honey butter on it! Every bite of everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is wonderful, and our server (Ester) was perfect! Add this as a MUST visit for every trip to Philadelphia! You won’t be disappointed.
For brunch the place is NOT worth it, the food was quite lackluster, they have a no business charging the premium they do for the food they provide. 20$ for a salad with no protein? 12$ for a yogurt bowl with 5 berries? After an hour wait, it was just disappointment. Genuinely surprised that this has such high reviews. But the focaccia was good though so the 2 stars only for that
Had a great dinner here. all of the appetizers were delicious, especially the tuna tartare (Just needed another cracker or two!)pastas we're all delicious as well!
I went here two days in a row during my visit to Philly bc the pasta here is just amazing! The price is very reasonable! And I absolutely love their service.
hosters at front desk horrible because we didn't have a reservation even the restaurant was half empty and it was 9pm they said no tables for 4 people and a baby which doesn't need a high chair and the outside place they was reservated so no place for us. so they make a big deal just because it was 2 hour before closing but who needs more to eat. we come from NYC we got surprised of the customer service. a manager came and she gave us a table right away. the water service was good but everything else no.?
