Ten Years and Counting, we now know why! Each bite was Pure Delight like happiness in your mouth. There was the sense of Excitement along with a craving for each course that followed! With that said Vernick Food and Drink is a must try when in Philadelphia! We made reservations in advance and ate upstairs. We had a 7 course tasting with amuse bouche for each dish. The atmosphere was great and are servers were awesome and on point.
I’ve heard many good things about this restaurant, and I was excited to try it.The reservation was easy to make on a weekday. We ordered a few appetizers that were fresh and well prepared. The presentation of the food was beautiful. One thing I didn’t like is that the food selection is limited, but drink menu is bigger than the food menu. Also, they use arctic char instead of salmon for the crudo. For such a nice restaurant like this, I think it would be nice if they don’t substitute the cheaper version of salmon. It’s a great place to open a bottle of wine with friends and share some delicious food. If you like good wine and nice ambiance, this is your place :)
Vernick Fish was definitely among the best eating experiences I’ve had in Philly, and that’s saying something since Philly is such a strong culinary town. I loved how the menu was so unabashedly seafood, and that translated into the quality of each dish.We got the raw scallops, the sardine toast, sea bass, and branzino. Plus, we got a special that was unparalleled—a hamachi collar, which was our favorite. Everything was amazing, and clearly inspired by different cuisines. The experience is also delightful — airy but warm; high-end but casual. Vernick Fish knows the tone that makes people feel comfortable, and I walked away feeling like I didn’t just enjoy dinner; I had an experience.
I’m rating Vernick Food & Drink in my top 2 best restaurants in Philly. Service was EXCELLENT! Our waiter was so attentive and went the extra mile to make our anniversary dinner amazing. Food was AMAZING!! Started with a Raspberry Gazpacho which was delicious. Our favorite dishes were the crudo and spaghetti. Mmmm I’m still dreaming of the food. Will definitely be back for special occasions.
Our dinner was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Madison is a knowledgeable server and guided us to excellent choices in each category. Always with a smile and bullseye suggestions; novel wine pairings, delicious salads, first courses, and main dishes. Unique flavor combinations throughout the meal. We had a terrific time and a great dinner.
When I ate at Vernick I had the best Branzino - so perfectly crispy on the outside and flaky/tender on the inside. Every course was pleasantly surprising…art on a plate! Highly recommend
A nice restaurant in Philly. Nice atmosphere. Crispy skin artic char was good. Liked the Seabass. Perfectly done. Slow service. It was ok. we were not in a rush. Overall enjoyed.
Very disappointed overall with the experience Vernick. I had previously went about a year ago and the dining experience was exceptional. I went about a month ago and had high expectations. The staff was friendly as always. It did take about 30 minutes to get a cocktail, but they were noticeably busy so that didn't bother me. I ordered the toast and the tagliatelle as my starters. The toast was mediocre compared to the mushroom one I ordered a year ago. Unfortunately, the tagliatelle pasta was the worst pasta dish I've ever had in a restaurant. There was so much salt it was borderline inedible. For entrees we ordered the venison and chicken with all 3 sides. The entrees were enjoyable, however the meal was slightly ruined by the appetizers. In general, I expected more from this dining experience and don't think I will be going back anytime soon.
Cocktails were amazing. We enjoyed the small plates more than the large plates, especially the scallop over ginger porridge. Service was fantastic. Enjoyed the environment. Just a really nice time.
Such a lovely dining experience. Start to finish, among the best meals our group has ever had. Amazing service, delicious appetizers, main courses and desserts. The menu is small, because everything is fresh and a specialty, but there were choices for everyone to enjoy. Consistently ranked among the best restaurants in Philadelphia - and deservedly so.
