The oysters, chirashi, bronzino and sea bass were all fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The ambience was awesome. Definitely a great place for a fancy seafood dinner.
Weak link was rather lackadaisical service. Food was very good
Perfect, almost, in every way! The only negative: prices are steep. But, for a special occasion, worth it. Erica was OUTSTANDING!
Service was fantastic. The hostess our server and whole waitstaff are friendly and accommodating. Could not ask for nicer people. The raw fish especially the scallops and tuna carpaccio are next level great dishes. Squid ink pasta was very good as recommended by our server. A+ on all of the above. 4 stars instead of 5 for two dishes - the oysters rock and the prawns. Both tasted of too much salt. That can happen with oysters that are briny as may have been the case. The prawns are blackened and maybe that added to the saltiness. We were really looking forward to those and were bit disappointed. Otherwise a wonderful restaurant. Worthy of a special evening.
Oysters, raw selections, small plates and mains were all fantastic. The desserts that incorporated pastry left a little to be desired, but the ice creams and that little dark chocolate sea salt cookie that comes with the espresso was delicious. The service was also spot on.
Incredible dining experience!
Incredible meal - every dish was an absolute delight. The service was knowledgeable and friendly. New favorite restaurant!
Great food and service. Excellent all around. Will definitely go back!
I went to Vernick Fish for my birthday celebration and I couldn't have asked for better. The food was superb-- the seafood was clearly the star, but every ingredient of the dish felt like it held its own (the braised chanterelles under the branzino for example), and contributed something flavorful and interesting to the dish as a whole. Every dish my table and I tried was balanced. The oysters were fresh (we got 1/2 dozen of the special and another 1/d dozen of the Maine oyster...brilliant) and the accompaniments each had a nice little twist (pink peppercorn mignonette, yuzu horseradish, gochujang cocktail sauce). A few folks at my table who don't usually love oysters really enjoyed these. The snapper ceviche was an immediate hit. I think the plantain chips could've been slightly larger (so you could scoop the ceviche more easily) and slightly thicker (so the weight of the fish and the moisture from the ceviche doesn't break through the tiny circle of fried plantain). But that's pretty insignificant compared to the flavor, and presentation of each dish. The servers were incredibly polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. For me, it's a spot for a special occasion or a generous treat to yourself or somebody you love who enjoys seafood (or who you want to experience really good seafood).
Excellent service atmosphere was great my wife and I enjoyed her birthday dinner ! Our server was A1
