Small place but they carry all good products including halal meat.My order was exchanged by mistake at counter by cashier.But the owner told me to give him some time so the other customer might bring the order back.I went home. by evening he personally brought my entire order to my residence with an free box of chocolate cookies.I'm impressed. Thank you.
Small market, friendly staff, eclectic food choices for my tastes. But I was nearby so I checked them out. They were fully stocked with buckwheat I wanted while huge store across the street was out. They were busy, so must be a popular place to shop

When they started they were respectful, nowadays the butchers are terrible with customers I decided to not go to this place anymore!

Very good variety of dairy products. Good choice of nuts and dry fruits. Fresh meet and chicken.
We are regular customers of Vatan. I had a very uncomfortable experience today. When it came time to check out, the hazelnuts and raisins I had left on the counter (while I ordered my halal meat in the back) were gone. I asked the young man, young girl and woman about them, but no one understood. Another customer who spoke English translated and told me someone else had bought them. That's fine. But when it came time to check out, the two females were laughing, speaking Tajik and looking at me. I was frankly insulted by this. Although I am American, I have been married to a Pakistani for 35 years and am no stranger to different cultures. I told the young man, who understood some English but was also laughing, that it is very rude to speak in a different language while laughing and looking at the customers. It makes one think we are being made fun of. I hope the owner sees this, if not, I will make sure I mention this incident to him next time we are there and he is there also. Not good for American business - you have to cater to all your clientele, not just Turkish/Uzbek/Tajik.
Everything is overpriced. Low level of sanitation in the meat section. Like mentioned in the other reviеws, no one wears mask. They like to make the customers wait for a while and more importanly they dont even care!
This is definitely a no-frills market and not that big, but they had a good selection of Turkish items. I liked that they had a mix of items from different places, as I always like to try new and different things. I have read complaints about the prices, but the price of everything is going up (and/or containers are getting smaller), and the prices were better than the 3-4 other markets we usually go to for imported items. The staff were very friendly.
