I couldn't wait to visit this little book store in Philly. Everything from the friendly Staff and cute decor made this trip worth it. Found plenty of gems on the shelves. I highly recommend supporting this business.
I really liked this coffee shop. The entire ambience was a whole vibe; I could feel myself stepping deeper into blackness and the culture. I tried the Rosa Latte and Almond Croissant; OMG, they were both delicious. If I had to say one not so good thing about this location, it would be about the staff; they were a bit shaky (not very patient, seemed annoyed, and border line rude/not welcoming). However, this was not the case for the African American male who was working on 6.4.22.I would like to end on a good note by saying that the merch and books really add the icing to the cake to this shop.Note: there is a cost for street parking and you need to wear a mask in this establishment. They will provide a mask if you don’t have one.
Uncle Bobbie's Coffee & Books is a black owned coffee shop and bookstore located in the heart of the Germantown section of Philadelphia. It was founded by Marc Lamont Hill in 2017. He even pops in at random to hang out and get work done. Their slogan is "Cool People. Dope Books. Great Coffee." It is spacious, bright and welcoming. The staff is professional and works hard. Delicious coffee with lots of options including some fancy specialties. A cozy place with a beautiful interior where you can relax, read and get work done. The background music played here is superb and nostalgic. Their specially curated book selection is highly impressive. I'm so glad my friend brought me here since he's been trying to for the longest. Highly recommended and you won't be disappointed.
Great atmosphere, books everywhere, and food. Coffee ☕️ after Sunday Worship ?Thank you
This spot was very relaxing and comfortable for me to shop for a new read and positive themed black gear. It was accessible for me using Septa train to Wayne Junction then the 23 Septa bus direct to the store. Definitely enjoyed the americano, plus purchased nice gear.
They are not people who keep their word. I visited three times left copies of my book and they said they’ll reach back out and they have never done that. I have called and whenever you try to speak with a manager about my book, they are always busy and even when you leave your number, they never return your call. I have them two free copies of my book with a card and they have never even returned to say we are not interested! As local resident author and academic it’s quite unfortunate that they’ll treat the local like this. In fact, several locals have said the same thing.
Interesting book selection, and great coffee ☕️!

My favorite coffee shop since moving out to Philly. Great atmosphere. Friendly people. Good for reading and studying. Tasty drinks. Love the sweet potato pie ?
