I’m giving them one star because I can’t give them anything else. I wanted to try their food so bad but I never had the opportunity for multiple reasons. Firstly, I placed an order with them on doordash and they were out of the sandwich that I ordered. About 10 minutes after placing my order, I was contacted by the restaurant and they asked if I wanted to switch my order to something else. After telling them no, they assured me that they would cancel the order. They did not cancel my order. I was then charged on doordash. I called them about 3 days later just to inquire about whether the sandwich I initially ordered was back in stock. I ended up speaking with someone by the name of Donte and he offered to accommodate me with a free sandwich on the house due to all the troubles. That was at about 7:45pm on a Tuesday. By 8:15pm that same day, someone contacted me back saying they WERE NOT going to be able to accommodate me. That was an argument. They then agreed to accommodate me for a second time. Their hours of operation states they close at 9pm. They NEVER close at their actual time. I went in to get my sandwich on Wednesday around 7:15pm and while cooking food on the grill, with the door wide open, a young female says “Sorry, we just closed”. NEVER IN MY LIFE WILL I RETURN. This is why it’s hard to support Black owned businesses. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, BAD ATTITUDES, NO INTEGRITY. goodbye.
I visit Ummi Dee’s as often as possible. The owner is very welcoming, and the staff is amazing. I usually order the Salmon BLT (beef bacon), today I ordered Salmon egg rolls. Their menu features milk shakes, hand crafted burgers, egg rolls, cheesesteaks, and more. I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade which includes fresh strawberries. If you are in the Philadelphia area, remember to visit Ummi Dee’s for an outstanding experience.
Wanted to support because it’s black owned and I was disappointed both times I ate here. First time my order took over an hour (I understand it’s real food and it takes time to cook) but when I checked on my food twice I was told another five minutes each time and I had to keep saying “excuse me” to get their attention. My fries weren’t even cooked thoroughly, but I waited forever. Second time I waited about 40-50 minutes and my friend went in to check on our order and nobody even asked if she had been served or anything for about 10 minutes. The food wasn’t too bad this time except the shrimp were too done. They definitely need to work on their customer service and practice food safety and handling. Just because you wash your hands doesn’t mean you can just touch people food barehanded on top of you touching a million and six other things. I wish shawt nothing but success, she just won’t ever get my bread again.
Very disappointed…. The staff was really nice but this food is not good and this burger definitely isn’t worth $15…, the salmon is barely done, super soft, kinda salty … soft tomatoes… I’m sorry this is a black owned business so I try to support but this just was not it….
I had a salmon burger and it was horrible. It was like I was eating oil straight from the grill. As soon as I picked it up to bite it, the oil had soaked through the bottom of the bun completely. I took a bite and puked 30 seconds later. I also had sweet potato fries and they were undercooked. This place needs some serious help. Not everyone can cook. Smh. I would not recommend the salmon burger at all!!!!!
Best service as always! I drive 1 hour from Mid Delaware for the great food and service at least once a month. I recommend to everyone.
Utterly disappointed! I heard a lot of hype that was unfounded. First of all the customer service was terrible. The cooks were upset because I questioned why my food took over 30 minutes to be ready, talking indirectly to one of his coworkers. Plus they charge you extra for ketchup on a hamburger and extra for any condiments on a burger that is over ten dollars. You order your food and they don't offer or carry utensils for you to ear your food, not a fork sport spoon or anything. The food was ok but I'll never go here again
The Brunch Burger is one of my favorites!!! I highly recommend, no dryness, real juicy and just right for your tastebuds!! Seasonings on point! I recommend the milkshakes and another one of my favorites, their strawberry lemonade.. I loveee ?
Ummidee's is a must if you are in the Philly Area. Not your traditional burger joint. Food is always fresh and made to perfection. Quality is the word that comes to mind when thinking of Ummidees. Very high quality meats and steaks right down to the brioche buns. Customer service is top tier! Please do yourself a favor and head there.
