We ordered the steak with jalapeño cheese and the pork sandwich. Hands down the pork was the best. They drench it in their drippings which made it so juicy and flavorful. We came 8 min before they closed at 10. Just in time! Make sure you get there before then because they were turning people away soon as 10pm hit.
Glad I stubbled on this place when I stopped for gas. Line was almost out the door so I figured it had to be good. I had a disaster cheesesteak experience the day before at another place. So this made up for it. Should've got more than 1
Eh. Good steak, part of the original cheesesteak houses but it’s covered outside picnic table seating - no inside and no ac. Critically, no bathrooms outside of a porta potty that was totally gross and had no sanitizer let alone a place to wash your hands.
Tony Luke's is one of the best places to get the perfect Philly while in Philly! Great place to sit and enjoy fantastic food by friendly staff ❤️ we try and hit Tony Luke's every time we are in the area and now they have locations in many different places ?
Philadelphia is famous for their cheese steak sandwiches so we just have to give this place a try. There are plenty of free street parking outside. We ordered 3 sandwiches for 4 people to share. The sandwich was 9.5" each and costs around $12.5. Since we didn't eat the sandwiches right away, they weren't super hot. I bet they taste much better eating them right away.We ordered cheese steak hoagie, old fashioned pizza steak and steak italian. All were very good but I wish I can taste the cheese a bit more. My favorite was cheese steak hoagie. And don't forget to get the pepper side!
Tony Luke's puts attention into their cheesesteaks and you can tell after one bite. Their menu is varied and you are bound to find something you like. Portions are on the big side and you likely will feel full. The original is better than the off-site locations as the menu is bigger. Seating is ample as are the napkins! If you go to Philly, this is one of those places you MUST go to - more than Geno's or Pat's.
The OG, it's not broken so it won't get fixed. Always enjoying a cheesesteak from Tony Luke's. If your worried about children the chicken fingers are amazing as well so they are covered.
Would recommend going here had a wiz wit and American wit. They had a pickle bar that was on the side which was yummy but the chew stakes were the best we came back 5 days later to end our trip there as well.
Even if you have never been there before, Tony Luke's instantly gives you that childhood nostalgia of good foodie vibes. I got the cheese steak (obviously) 'with wiz' and fried onions. Every bite was perfect and it had the perfect mix of greasy and savory you want in each bite. I thought having the option to add cherry peppers (condiments side bar) was a nice touch! My gripes: there was a long line (to be expected at a good place, but as you know I hate lines), no silverware on the side to cut my cherry peppers and personally I felt there could have been slightly more meat on the sandwich. What I loved: the bread (perfect), the atmosphere (very cheesesteaky) and the actually sandwiches perfect bite was top notch. I didn't drink so I won't rate drinks. Price wise it was reasonable and worth it. Overall I give Tony Luke's a 4.3 out of 5. A South Philly must eat!
Was nice and meaty and messy. Loved it!
