One of the coolest dive bars in Philly, the staff and owner Dennis create such a safe and fun environment. Tons of retro games to be played and memories to be made. Not to mention fairly priced! This has easily become my favorite place in Philadelphia to grab a drink !!Just a friendly reminder that they are cash only but have an atm if you forget.
The Monkey club is the quintessential neighborhood bar: it always feels homely, even when packed on the weekend, the staff and the owner give you the feeling like you've known them forever and always take the extra step to make people feel welcome and comfortable, the free games on the 2nd floor just add to the feeling of homeliness and comfort. This is my go to place if my intention is to just chill or to be social, I even come here to do work occasionally, to have a change of scenery from the home office.
First time here to meet a friend. Nice place, cash only it seems, friendly non-intimidating environment, good selection of beer and spirits. Music a little loud but I may also be a little hard of hearing so....
