The restaurant looks a little different now than pictured above. We sat outside in a nice patio area that has a privacy wall from the street. The food was good - Enjoyed the pizza. Salad came peppered and was to much for out table even though we like pepper.
My salmon was wonderful. My husband had the steak mac & cheese and loved it. Cocktails quirky and tasty. Service and server fantastic. Couldn't ask for more.
Had lunch at goats beard over the weekend. We were a little sad brunch wasnt on Saturday, the lunch options seemed a little on the smaller size. Outdoor seating was great and the service was incredible, everyone in my party had a great time. I ordered the white Detroit pizza and it was AMAZING! Im from the Detroit area originally and this definitely made me feel at home. The cheese crust and toppings were perfect. Sidenote: my friends who ordered the fish and chips weren’t the biggest fans. Fish was a little greasy. Besides that, I would for sure recommend the Goats Beard.
Cute spot. Inside and outside dining. Inside is small and dominated by a lively bar. The outside area is more quiet and nicely sequestered from the street noise on Main Street. We had the Brussels sprouts appetizer which was quite good and a Detroit style pizza, which was good too. The service is friendly and professional but be aware that an 18% gratuity is added to the bill so no further tipping necessary unless you’re feeling generous.
Walked over from PHS POPUP ( see separate review). Cute place in Nice area.. we were led upstairs to small dining room.. folks w mobility issues take note.. We were a party of 7..started w Mussels; bit on small side & chicken nuggets w cheese, tasty. The salmon over lentils was very good crisp skin, -2 has pizzas ,good- Vegi risotto nice & creamy.- steak Mac & cheese ..all enjoyed their meals..service was good & polite. This wasn't a cheap nite out but covid has kind of done away w those..overall was happy and would return. They do have a loyalty club.
Please help me make sense of this… two different wordings, that are 2 completely different things… “smart tax” implies an upcharge taxing ie food/beverage, but service fee would be if i ordered from something like grubhub, which we actually dined in for & why charge a “service fee” when im already tipping-for the service…Let me clarify, i have ordered take out from this place for YEARS and finally dined in for the first time for my fiance and i first actual date since the pandemic. I love the food but i was fully disappointed with the dine in experience. I never dined in here before because it always seemed crowded, however tonight there was maybe only 3 tables used so i said sure why not. It took FOREVER to get noticed by the waitress & the service was extremely slow for how not busy it was. We were so neglected that someone from the kitchen, not only brought out our food, but brought it all out at once. Our appetizers shouldve been the first thing made and brought out but it wasnt that our actual meals were barely room temperature while our appetizers were so so hot. Then finally i requested to go boxes for our (there was TWO of us) food, we were given ONE box to share…If youre gona mandatory 20% tip i dont mind but this shows 18% + 2 diff wording of an additional charge? Ive seen “food tax” “alcohol tax” but never this! I feel scammed honestly with the lack of clarification what this charge is!
I'll explain why it's 2 and to be honest, it wasn't the food cause that was amazing. We got there and the place had 3 tables filled. We sat ourselves. We then waited about 7 minutes for a waitress to notice us. The moment she came over, we put our whole order in which included 2 apps and 2 mains. As we are waiting for a long time, I notice someone else sit down near us. His food came way before ours. Finally our food comes out and it's not even our waitress. The cooks brought them out. Both apps and mains at the same time. The cooks should be getting the forced 18 percent gratuity. Not to mention, we also got charged a "smart tax". I still don't know what this is or means. Yall need to tell your servers to do their jobs better. Very disappointed. I always order take out and I think I will from now on cause they don't deserve my money.
Stopped in for dinner. Food was delicious and fresh! Great options for drinks and food. Sat upstairs by the pizza kitchen. Overall, a great experience!
20/10 drinks and helpful hospitality crew.I had an event here and Brendan the manager sought through every detail of the experience beyond expectation. He was incredibly flexible and understanding, and made every ounce of throwing a surprise party as simple as humanly possible. Everyone on staff that day really made the experience so special.I come here for HHs and stay for the apps and staff. I've always had a really pleasant time at Goats Beard and have been treated with the utmost respect on every visit. What I didn't know as a patron until now are the two upstairs areas that are really perfect for small to mid-size gatherings (15-30). We had a ton of space and sat 20 people for a birthday, and they even let us bring in our own music and dim the lights after our first round of drinks!I loved every minute working with this venue just as much as every cocktail I've ever enjoyed here. Definitely a repeat customer!
Decent food and service. The menu is overpriced for the amount and quality of the food. The drinks are also pricey. The servers are stretched thin. It was frustrating watching our drinks sit at the bar with two bartenders standing next to them doing nothing. Our server was running around working hard. You would think they would help out and run the drinks out to the table. A bit frustrating
